cer administering the Government, shall, as
from the time to be in the respective cases
in that behalf specified by such Proclamation,
be deemed and taken, until the termination of
the next Session of the General Assembly, to
be and to have been, as from such specified time,
natural-born Subjects of Her Majesty within
the Islands of New Zealand, as fully to all in-
tents and purposes as if their names had respec-
tively been inserted in the Schedule hereunto
annexed. Provided always, that every such
Proclamation shall contain the description, oc-
cupation, or calling of the Person or Persons
therein named, and of his or their residence at
the date of such Proclamation."

Now, therefore, I, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and
authority in me vested by the said Act, do here-
by proclaim and declare that the Persons here-
inafter mentioned, shall come within the opera-
tion of the said Act, from the several dates
hereinafter respectively specified, viz.,

HENRY ZEIGLER,
From the First day of January, One thousand
eight hundred and fifty-seven, Native of
Switzerland, Settler, Residence Auckland, in
the Province of Auckland.

FREDERICK OHLSON,
From the First day of June, One thousand
eight hundred and fifty-eight, Native of
Denmark, Mariner, Residence Auckland, in
the Province of Auckland.

in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand, and Vice-
Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PESENTS SHALL COME
GREETING :

WHEREAS by an Act of the General
Assembly, intituled, "The Regulation
of Elections Act, 1858," it is enacted that it
shall be lawful for the Governor by Warrant
under his hand, from time to time to appoint
Polling Places for each Electoral District within
or without the limits thereof, and to appoint
any one of such places to be the Principal Pol-
ling Place for the District, and all or any of
such Polling Places at any time to abolish and
to appoint other Polling Places in lieu thereof:

Now KNOW YE, that I, Thomas Gore
Browne, the Governor of the said Colony, in
pursuance of the power and authority in me
vested by the said Act, do hereby appoint the
undermentioned places to be the Polling Places
for the respective Districts hereinafter specified
for the Election of Members of the House of
Representatives, namely:

For the City of Wellington District,-
The Resident Magistrate's Court at Wel-
lington; and
The Public Market of Messrs. Bethune and
Hunter

For the Wellington Country District,-
At Wellington-The Resident Magistrate's
Court
At Karori- The School-house
At Porirua Road-The Residence of Mr.
Best
At Otaki-The Residence of Matine Te
Whiwhi

For the Hutt District,-
At the Hutt-The Mechanic's Institute
At the Upper Hutt-The Residence of
Richard Barton, Esq., J.P.

For the Wairarapa District,-
At Grey Town-The School-house
At Masterton-The School-house
At Otaraia-The premises of Mr. Archi-
bald Gillies
At the Castle Point-The Residence of
Mr. Everett

For the Wanganui District,-
At Wanganui-The Resident Magistrate's
Court
At Turakina-The School-House
At Rangitikei-Mr. Duncan Frazer's House
At Rangitikei-Mr. Adam Keir's House
At Rangitikei-Mr. Richard Hammond's
House

And I do further appoint the several Pol-
ling Places hereinafter specified to be the Prin-
cipal Polling Places for their respective Dis-
tricts, namely:-

For the City of Wellington District,-
At Wellington-The Resident Magistrate's
Court House

For the Wellington Country District,
At Wellington-The Resident Magistrate's
Couat House

For the Hutt District,-
At the Hutt-The Mechanics' Institute

For the Wairarapa District,-
