PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Colonel THOMAS
GORE BROWNE, Companion of the
most Honorable Order of the Bath,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief
in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand, and Vice-Admiral
of the same, &c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General
Assembly of New Zealand, passed in
the session holden in the nineteenth and twen-
tieth years of Her Majesty, No. 22, intituled
"The Waste Lands Act, 1856," it is enacted
that no Land acquired from the aboriginal
inhabitants, after the passing thereof, shall be
open for sale or disposal until the Governor
shall have notified, by Proclamation in the
New Zealand Government Gazette, that the
Native Title has been extinguished over such
Land.
Now, therefore, I, the Governor, do hereby
proclaim and notify that the Native Title has
been extinguished over the Block of Land the
Boundaries whereof are mentioned or described
in the Schedule hereunto annexed.
Given under my hand, and issued
under the Public Seal of the
Colony of New Zealand,
at Government House, at
Auckland, this fifteenth day
of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hun-
dred and fifty eight.

DISTRICT OF KAIPARA.
"Te Ika-a-ranganui" Block.

BOUNDARIES
A line commencing on the North at Marunui
(S. 52°, W. 37°; 37,353 links) thence
in a direct line Westerly to Hauparoa,
thence crossing the tributaries of the Kaiwaka
stream and on to Matawherohia, tuining
thence it runs (12° S. 9' W. 4061 links) and
crosses the river of Kaiwaka thence on (174°
S. W. 6420 links) till it reaches the Kaitara
stream at Te Roto, where it turns and runs in
a southerly direction (S. E. 37° 14,450 links)
to Pukenui, proceeding on thence, crossing the
Mungamunga and Rota streams till it reaches
Tikapuaraunui, and turning in an Easterly
direction, the line running (N. 63° 30' E.,
7004 links; N. E. 48°, 21,582 links) till it
falls into the Hakoru River; continuing on
in the course of the said River till it
meets the Survey Line (N. 70° 30' W.
2,368 links) along which it runs to Marunui
where the Boundaries join.
