PROCLAMATION
By His Excellency Colonel Thomas
Gore Browne, Companion of the
most Honorable Order of the
Bath, Governor and Commander-
in Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and Vice
Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS the land hereinafter men-
tioned has been acquired by purchase,
from the Aboriginal inhabitants of New Zea-
land, and it is expedient that the acquisition
thereof should be notified by Proclamation
accordingly.
Now, therefore, I, the Governor, do hereby
proclaim and notify that the Native Title has
been extinguished over the several Blocks of
Land whereof the boundaries are mentioned or
described in the Schedule hereunto annexed.

under the Public Seal of the
Colony of New Zealand, at
Government House at Auck-
land, this thirteenth day of
May, in the year of our Lord

and fifty-eight.

SCHEDULE.
PROVINCE OF AUCKLAND.
DISTRICT OF WHANGAREI,
Ruarangi Block.
Estimated to contain 35,000 Acres.
BOUNDARIES.
A line commencing at Ngatoka at the
source of the Stream of Tauraroa, thence
down the course of the said Stream to Ruaran-
gi Kaputoki, Kiporo, Papakaranga Whaingaru,
Wharewhiti, Waitomo, Wharekawhetu, Taipa-
rea, where the river ceases to be the boundary,
thence across the Kauri Whakaoo to the Stream
of Waiotira, thence down the course of the Waio-
tira to Pakara-te-wai, thence in a straight line
to the Stream Taka-te-aria, thence across the
Stream to Ngako o te Hauhau, thence in an
Easterly direction till it joins the boundary of
the Government Block of Waipu, thence along
the back line of the Waipu till it joins the
boundary of the lands of the Chief Mate at
Ngatoka aforesaid.
Pakiri Block,
Estimated to contain 38,000 Acres.
BOUNDARIES,
A line commencing at Pakiri, thence run-
ning inland to Rauporoa, to Ohaukawa, and
along the survey line of Mr. Churton, Hori te
