HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to
be notified for general information that a
Despatch (No. 1, of 22nd July 1855,) has
been received from Her Majesty's Secretary of
State for the Colonies acknowledging the re.
ceipt of four hundred and forty-one pounds
one shilling and eight pence, being collections
made in different Churches in the Provinces
of Auckland and Wellington, as a remittance
to the "Patriotic Fund."

HIS Excellency the Governor has been
pleased to direct that the name of the
following gentleman should be added to the
Commission of the Peace for the Province of
