  1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand
    that nothing in the said Ordinance contained shall extend to render
    any person liable to the penalties therein mentioned, who shall un-
    der the written authority of the Speaker of the Legislative Council
    or of the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the said Gen-
    eral Assembly, sell Fermented or Spirituous Liquors within any
    building used for the purposes of the meeting of the General
    Assembly of New Zealand or to render liable to forfeiture any
    Liquors exposed to sale by any such person within any such
    building.

  2. All persons who shall have, at any time heretofore, sold or
    disposed of any Fermented or Spirituous Liquors within any
    such building as aforesaid shall be and they are hereby re-
    spectively indemnified against all penalties incurred by reason
    thereof.

  3. This Act shall be entitled "The Licensing Amendment Act
    1854."
