The Colonial Secretary moved the order of
the day for the further consideration in com-
mittee of the 'Gunpowder Bill.'
Bill considered, amended, and further
postponed until Tuesday, 3rd August.
Mr. Donnelly moved the order of the day
for the first reading of the 'Slaughter House
Bill
.'
Bill read a first time.
Mr. Donnelly gave notice that he should
move the second reading of the bill on Tues-
day, 3rd August.
His Excellency gave notice that he should
move on the second reading of the said bill,
an amendment in the 6th clause.
Mr. Brown gave notice that he should
move the first reading of the 'Savings Bank
Bill
' on Tuesday, 3rd August.
The Attorney General gave notice that he
should move the third reading of the 'Native
Force Bill
' on Tuesday, 3rd August.
The Colonial Secretary gave notice that he
should move the third reading of the 'Gun-
powder
' Bill, on Tuesday, 3rd August.
Council adjourned at 4 o'clock, until 2
o'clock on Tuesday, 3rd August.

TUESDAY, 3rd AUGUST.

Present—His Excellency the Governor, and
four Members, absent Mr. Donnelly and
Mr. Domett.
Council met pursuant to adjournment.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and
confirmed.
The Attorney General moved the order of
the day for the further consideration in com-
mittee, of the 'Spirits Bill.'
Bill committed, and ordered to be reprinted
with the amendments.
The Attorney General moved the order of
the day for the further consideration in com-
mittee, of the 'Native Force Bill.'
Report brought up and adopted, and bill
ordered to be read a third time on Thursday,
the 5th instant.
The Colonial Secretary moved the order of
the day for the further consideration in com-
mittee, of the 'Gunpowder Bill.'

until 2 o'clock on Thursday, the 5th instant.

THURSDAY, 5th AUGUST.

Present—His Excellency the Governor, and
four Members, absent Mr. Donnelly and
Mr. Domett.
Council met pursuant to adjournment.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and
confirmed.
His Excellency stated to the Council, that
Mr. Donnelly had tendered his resignation as
a Member of that body, and that the same had
been accepted, and that in consequence there-
of, His Excellency would move that the orders
of the day be postponed, until Saturday, the
7th instant.
Agreed to,—and
The Council adjourned until 2 o'clock on
Saturday, the 7th instant.

SATURDAY, 7th AUGUST.

Present—His Excellency the Governor, and
fonr Members, absent Mr. Domett.
Council met pursuant to adjournment.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and
confirmed.
On the motion of the Attorney General,
orders of the day postponed until Tuesday,
the 10th instant.
The Lieutenant Governor laid on the table
extract from despatch No. 41, of 10th Feb.,
1847, from the Secretary of State on the
subject of Land Claims, which had arisen
under Governor FitzRoy's Ten Shillings an
acre, and Penny an acre Proclamations.
Also a report drawn up by the Attorney
General, on the course to be pursued under
the terms of the said despatch.
Ordered that despatch and report be read.
and published in the Government Gazette for
general information, (Vide Gazette, No. 17.)
His Excellency read a minute to the
Council on the before mentioned subject, and
laid on the table a list of claims to land which
had already been investigated by the Com-
missioner, and for which Crown Grants were
in course of preparation.
Ordered that the said Minute and list of
Claims be published in the Government
Gazette
. (Vide Gazette, No. 17.)
Council adjourned at 3 o'clock, until 2
o'clock on Tuesday the 10th instant,
