JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS
IN THE
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
MONDAY, 2ND NOVEMBER, 1846.
PRESENT :
All the Members.
The Council met pursuant to adjournment.
The Minutes of the last Meeting were read
and confirmed.
On motion of Mr. Domett, the order of the
day for the further consideration in committee
of Administration of Justice Bill resumed.
Bill considered, further amended, and ad-
journed until Tuesday, 3rd November, 1846.
On motion of the Colonial Treasurer, the
Appropriation Bill further considered in com-
mittee, amended, and reported.
The Governor laid on the table a Bill to
amend the Customs' Amendment Ordinance,
Session 3, No. 6.
The Governor laid on the table the follow-
ing Returns, moved for by Mr. Donnelly on
the 21st October.
1.-Return of Revenue of the Government
of New Zealand from the commencement
of the Colony, to the end of the year 1845.
2.-Return of Revenue of the Northern
Division of the Colony of New Zealand,
during the Quarter ending 30th Septem-
ber, 1846.
3.-Return of the Number of Ships or
Vessels registered or licensed at the Port
of Auckland, from the foundation of the
Colony.
Ordered, that said Returns be printed.
The Attorney-General gave notice, that on
Tuesday, the 3rd November, 1846, he should
move the third reading of the Fees on Crown
Grants Ordinance.
The Governor gave notice that it was his
intention to introduce the following Bills for
consideration of the Council.
1.-An Ordinance to amend the Arms Im-
portation Ordinance.
2.-An Ordinance to amend the Cattle
Trespass Ordinance.
3.-An Ordinance for establishing Sessions
of the Peace.
4.-An Ordinance for the safe Custody of
Dangerous Lunatics.
Council adjourned at a quarter past four
o'clock, until two o'clock on Tuesday, the 3rd
November, 1846.
TUESDAY, 3RD NOVEMBER, 1846.
PRESENT :
All the Members.
The Council met pursuant to adjournment.
The Minutes of the last Meeting were read
and confirmed.
Mr. Domett moved the order of the day for
the further consideration in Committee of the
Administration of Justice Bill.
Bill committed, amended, and further ad-
journed.
The Attorney-General moved the order of
the day for the third reading of the Fees on
the Crown Grants Ordinance.
Bill read a third time, and passed.
The Attorney General gave notice that he
should move the further consideration of the
Supreme Court Rules Bill, on Wednesday,
the 4th November, 1846.
The Colonial Secretary gave notice that he
should move the first reading of the Customs
