PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency ROBERT FITZROY,
Esquire, Captain in Her Majesty's Royal
Navy, Governor and Commander-in-Chief
in and over the ColΓ³ny of New Zealand
and its Dependencies, and Vice Admiral
of the same, &c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance enacted by
the Governor of New Zealand, with
the advice and consent of the Legislative Coun-
cil, Session 2, No. 9, intituled "An Ordinance
"to provide for the Registration of Deeds and
"Instraments affecting Real Property," it is
enacted). "that there shall be established in
every County od District, at the case may be,
within the Colony, at office which shall be called
the Register Office, for registering in man-
ner thereinafter directed the Deeds, Wills, and
Memorials thereby authorized to be registered.

And Whereas it is thereby further enacted,
"that the said Ordinance shall come into ope-
ration within any County or District at such
tinte as His Excellency the Governor with the
advice of the Executive Council, shall by Pro-
clamation appoint.

Now, therefore, I, the Governor, in pursuance
of the power and authority in me vested, by the
said in part recited Ordinance, do hereby, with
the advice of tlie Executive Council, appoint
that the sald Ordinance shall come into opera-
tion within the District of Port Nicholson, or

Wellington, on Wednesday, the first day of
October, next ensuing.

under the Pubic Seal of the
Colony, at Government House,
(L. S.) Auckland, this twenty-ninth day
of July, in the year of Our Lord
One thousand eight hundred and
forty-five.
