Auckland, 23rd December, 1844.
T is hereby notified, that the Legislative
Council will meet on Tuesday, the fourth
of March, 1845—and that among the measures
proposed for consideration will be :-
An Ordinance for amending the Property Rate
Ordinance, by raising the Rate and Compo-
sition.
An Ordinance for licensing dealers in imported
goods—by means of a Rate and Composition.
An Ordinance for authorising Rates, or Tolls, to
be taken for the maintenance of Roads,
Streets, or Public Places.
An Ordinance for appropriating the Revenue
for the financial year 1845—6: the amount
of revenue to be raised in the Colony not ex-
ceeding fifteen thousand pounds.
And a Naturalization Ordinance.

NOTICE.
Colonial Secretary's Office,
Auckland, 23rd December, 1844.
WHEREAS, there are now about four
hundred Deeds of Grant lying at the
Colonial Secretary's Office, ready for delivery—
and it is expedient that they should be forth-
with issued I am desired to give notice, that
an Ordinance will be proposed to the Legislative
Council having for its object the establishing a
certain fine to be paid on Deeds allowed to re-
main at the said Office more than one month
after their advertisement in the Gazette.
The operation of such Ordinance to be re-
trospective—as far as January 1st, 1844, and
the fine to encrease monthly.

NOTICE.
Colonial Secretary's Office,
Auckland, 23rd December, 1844.
THE GOVERNOR hereby requires and directs
all Police Magistrates—and all those em-
ployed in the Police Department—to assist the
Collectors of Revenue in serving notices of lia-
bility to the penalty specified in the eleventh
section of the Property Rate Ordinance.

HIS Excellency the Governor has directed
the attention of the Public to be drawn
to the Notice which appeared in the Government
Gazette of the 26th of October last, No. 24—
whereby they were informed, that the Sale of
the 30th instant, will be the last at which Land
Scrip, obtained under Commissioners' Awards
on Land Claims, will be available in Exchange.
