NOTICE.
Colonial Secretary's Office,
Auckland, 6th June, 1843.
In order to enable Land Claimants to avail
themselves more easily of the existing ar-
rangements for exchanging land—I am desired
by the Governor to give notice that payment of
any fee on the final report of a Commissioner of
Land Claims may be deferred until the issue of
a Crown Grant for any land obtained in ex-
change for that in respect of which the said fee
may be payable.
No Grants consequent on Exchange of land
will be issued after six months subsequent to the
day of sale or exchange—therefore in order to
obtain any such grant—the fee must be paid
within six months from the day of exchange.

NOTICE.

WITH reference to the exchange of distant
land for Crown land near Auckland,
the Governor directs it to be notified that all
Deeds, or documents of any description, shewing
title to such distant land, will be required by the
Government previous to the issue of a Crown
Grant for other land in exchange.

PRE-EMPTION CERTIFICATES.

Auckland, 14th May, 1844.
HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to
be notified that parties failing to apply
at the Colonial Treasury for their Pre-emption
Certificates, within one month from the date of
the Letter from this Office apprising them of
His Excellency's consent to the issue of the
same, will forfeit the advantages conceded to
them thereby.
Persons who have already received this indul-
gence, are hereby required to claim their cer-
tificates within one month from the date hereof.

THREE POUNDS REWARD.
WHEREAS, JOHN TAGGETT, a Prisoner
in Her Majesty's Gaol, at Auckland,
effected his escape on the 30th ultimo, whilst at
work in Fort Street.—Any person who may
apprehend the said Prisoner, and deliver him to
the custody of the Gaoler, shall receive the above
reward.
DESCRIPTION.
Height—5 feet 2½ inches.
Age—19 years.
Hair—Dark brown.
Eyes—Dark hazel.
Figure—Slight, and well proportioned.
On left arm an impression of cross tobacco
pipes in blue.
On right arm an impression of a figure nailed
to a cross, in blue.
A mole on right arm between elbow and
wrist.
A cut over each eye-brow.
A prominent nose, low forehead, and com-
pressed lips.

THREE POUNDS REWARD.
WHEREAS, HENRY BUTLER, a Prisoner
in Her Majesty's Gaol, at Auckland,
effected his escape on the 30th ultimo, whilst at
work in Fort Street.—Any person who may
apprehend the said Prisoner, and deliver him to
the custody of the Gaoler, shall receive the
above reward.
DESCRIPTION.
Height—5 feet 7½ inches.
Age—21 years.
Hair—Brown.
Whiskers—Sandy.
Eyes—Grey.
Figure—Slightly made.
Complexion—Light.
An anchor and a sailor an right arm, in blue:
A female and B. R. on left arm.
