THE attention of the Heads of De-
partments is particularly called
to the necessity for sending in to the
Office of the Colonial Secretary early on
Saturday, whatever is intended for pub-
lication in the Government Gazette on
the ensuing Wednesday, as non-atten-
tion to this rule has in some instances
delayed the publication of the Gazette.

Heads of Departments are further
requested to cause the Government
Gazette to be carefully filed in their
respective offices, as they will be
expected to transfer that document,
with the other Records, to their suc-
cessors in Office.

NOTICE is hereby given, that Tenders will be
received at this Office, until noon on Mon-
day next, the 28th instant, from persons willing to
enter into a Contract for Draining a Swamp op-
posite Allotments Nos. 22 & 23, on the Manukau
Road.

Tenders are to contain the names of two Sure-
ties who are willing to become bound for the Con-
tractor, for the due performance of the work, the
bond for which must be executed within ten days
after the notification of the acceptance of the
Tender.

A Plan and Specification may be seen at this
Office, where all other particulars may be ob-
tained.

PROCLAMATION

By His Excellency WILLIAM HOBSON,
Esquire, Captain in Her Majesty's Royal
Navy, and Governor and Commander in Chief
in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice Ad-
miral of the same, &c., &c.

WHEREAS by the Supreme Court Ordi-
nance, Session 2. No. 1. it is enacted,
that there shall be holden Circuit Courts for the
despatch of the civil and criminal business of the
Supreme Court, before one of the Judges thereof,
at such places, and at such times as His Excel-
lency the Governor shall, with the advice of the
Executive Council, by proclamation from time
to time appoint, provided that such Courts shall
be holden twice in every year, at each of the places
so to be appointed.

Now I, the Governor and Commander-in-chief
of the colony of New Zealand aforesaid, do hereby,
with the advice of the said Executive Council, pro-
claim and appoint that such Circuit Court as afore-
said, shall be holden in the town of Wellington
on the first day of October, in the present year,
or as soon after the said day as conveniently may
be, and that such Circuit Courts as aforesaid, shall
be thereafter holden on the first day of April, and
the first day of October in every year, or as soon
after the said days respectively, as conveniently
may be.

Given under my hand and seal, this nineteenth
day of February, one thousand eight hundred and
forty-two.
