HIS Excellency the Governor has been
pleased to direct the subjoined extract,
from a Dispatch received from the Right Hono-
rable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, on
the subject of the Sale of Crown Lands in this
Colony, to be published for general information.

By His Excellency's Command,
WILLOUGHBY SHORTLAND.

EXTRACT.

Downing Street,
14th February, 1842.

"Until you shall have received further in-
struetions on this subject, you will be authorized
to continue Sales by Auction, fixing the minimum
price of Land for ordinary lots at not lower than
twenty shillings per acre, and for Suburban and
Town Lots at such a price as you may think
expedient."

HIS Excellency the Governor, has directed
the Publication of the following passage
from a Dispatch received from the Right Hono-
rable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, on
the subject of Emigration.

By Excellency's Command,
WILLOUGHBY SHORTLAND.

EXTRACT.

Downing-street,
16th of March, 1842.

"The Lords Commissioners of the Treasury
have assented to my recommendation, for the
appropriation to the purposes of Emigration to
New Zealand, of the sum Β£12,000 from the
amount reported by you to have been realized by
the Land Sales at Auckland; and have further
intimated their readiness to authorize an advance
of Β£6,000 from the Commissariat Chest Fund,
to defray the moiety of the expence of the Emi-
gration under the Commissioners, which will be
chargeable in this country."

FURNITURE OF PUBLIC OFFICES.

Auckland, September 7th, 1842.

TENDERS will be received at this Office,
until noon of Monday the 19th instant,
from persons desirous of contracting for the
supply of Presses, Tables and Chairs, from time
to time as they may be required for the various
Public Offices.

Further particulars may be obtained, and
Plans and Specifications seen, at the Office of
the Colonial Storekeeper.

CLAIMS TO LAND WITHDRAWN.

Colonial Secretary's Office,
Auckland, 6th September, 1842.

HIS Excellency the GOVERNOR directs it to be
notified, that the Commissioners for inves-
tigating Claims to Grants of Land in this Colony,
have reported that the undermentioned Claims
have been withdrawn by the Claimants for the
reasons thereto annexed.

Case No. 98 c, GEORGE GREENAWAY. The
Claimant having sold the Land to Mr. Victor de
Sentis, who makes a claim for it in Case
No. 323 b, leaves him to prove the purchase.

Case No. 258 C, WILLIAM D. BRIND. With-
drawn, Claimant having stated that the Land
contained in this Case is included in his Claim
No. 258.

By His Excellency's Command,
WILLOUGHBY SHORTLAND.

ALEXANDER MACGREGOR,
DECEASED.

ALL persons indebted to, or having any
claim upon the estate of the said Alexander
MacGregor, late of Kororarika, Bay of Islands,
New Zealand, deceased, are requested forthwith
to send the amount and full particulars thereof
to me, in order that proper acquittances for the
former may be prepared, and that the propriety
of the latter may be examined and considered;
and in default thereof, all claimants will be
peremptorily excluded from any benefits of the
said estate. Any person giving to me any
information so as to discover any at present
unknown property, belonging to the said
estate, will be liberally rewarded by the
Administrator.
