No. 402. THOMAS BIRCH, of Kororarika,
claimant,
300, Three hundred acres, more or less, at
Hokianga, and called Motakione; bounded by
the Waikado, the Tutaitani, and the Pukeatua.
Alleged to have been purchased by claimant
on the 8th of February, 1839, from the na-
tive chiefs Paroa and Nga Eki.
Consideration: cash and goods, amounting
to £20.

12, Twelve acres, more or less, called Paen-
gatai, on the south bank of the Waiaka creek.
Bounded in front by the said creek, running
from a stone called Ponohrohe 400 yards, to a
marked Mangrove tree on the one side; from
the above stone to a pole on the top of the hill
in a south west by south south direction; on
the other side from the above named Mangrove
tree, straight to the top of a peaked hill called
Toko Toko, a straight line uniting the pole,
and the hill Toko Toko forming the back
boundary.
Alleged to have been purchased by claimant
on the 8th May, 1839, from the native
chiefs Popaki and Ngawe.

3000, Three thousand acres, more or less,
called Te Kohu Kohu, on the west bank of the
Hokianga. Bounded on the south by the creek
Waihoehoe; on the east by the main river; on
the north by the creek Waihonuru, and land
claimed by G. F. Russell, running westerly 4
miles; the extent of the back boundary, in-
cluding a piece of land called Te Kohu Kohu;
bounded on the south by a line running west
from a Purire tree, adjoining land claimed by
G. F. Russell; on the east by the main river;
on the north by the creek Te Koruke, and
running inland 4 miles, which forms the west or
back boundary.

ma creek, and called Tepoinga; bounded on
the east by the Waima creek, on the south by
the Pepoinga creek, on the west by the summit
of a hill down to a sudden turn of the Waima
creek, including the common landing place of
the Mission Station.
Alleged to have been purchased by Mr. Pop-
plewell & Mr. Turner for the Mission, from
the native chiefs Pi, Takahorea, and others.
Consideration; cash and goods amounting to
£40.
Nature of conveyance; a deed consumed in
the Mission house by fire.
No. 342. FANNY WING, of Hokianga,
claimant.
300, Three hundred acres, more or less, si-
tuate on the river Hokianga, called the Waiti;
bounded in the front by the river; on the north-
east by the creek Maratra; and from the junc-
tion of that creek with the Hokianga, in the Nar-
rows, by a line bearing S. and by E. E. inland;
on the other side towards the land claimed by
Mr. E. Fishwick, viz., S. and by E. by a Puriri
tree near which is a water-hole, or spring, called
Koriwero; and thence due E. till it cuts the
N. E. E. boundary.
Alleged to have been given to claimant in
1839, by the native chiefs Tutu and others.
Nature of conveyance: a deed, dated the 7th
of February, 1839.
No. 433. CHRISTOPHER HARRIS, on behalf of
his Son, John Harris, claimant.
5000, Five thousand acres, more or less, si-
tuate on the south side of the river Muta Kraka,
a tributary of the Hokianga; being a gift from
Hua, or Trivitua, by a deed dated 23rd Decem-
ber, 1839.
