Instruments affecting real property," it is enacted
that there shall be established in every County
or District, as the case may be, within the Colo
ny an office which shall be called the "Register
Office," for registering in manner thereinafter
directed, the Deeds, Wills and Memorials, there-
by authorized to be registered, And whereas it
is thereby further enacted, that the said Ordi-
nance shall come into operation within any
County or District, at such time as His Excel-
lency the Governor, with the advice of the Exe-
cutive Council, shall by proclamation appoint.
Now therefore I, the Governor, in pursuance
of the power and authority in me vested, by the
said in part recited Ordinance, do hereby, with
the advice of the Executive Council, appoint,
that the said Ordinance shall come into opera-
tion, within the County of Eden, on Monday,
the 15th day of August, next ensuing.

Lord one thousand eight hundred and
forty-two.

PERSONS desirous of undertaking any of
the Works for the construction of Roads in
the ensuing Spring, are hereby requested to for-
ward sealed tenders to the Office of the Surveyor
General on or before 12 o'clock on MONDAY the
15th August next, viz:-
For the cutting and removal of earth and clay
to specified places, on the road from Auckland to
Epsom, per cubic yard.
For the laying down broken scoria, to be bro-
ken to the dimensions of a cube of two inches,
tender to state the sum per cubic yard.
For cutting open drains, per cubic yard.
For the construction of covered dry built scoria
cross drains, per perch.
For the preparation of the roads for broken
stones, per superficial yard.
For the removal of loose scoria stones from the
intended sites of roads per superficial yard.
The Plans and Sections of the roads from
Auckland to Epsom; of a branch road from
Hobson's Creek to the Tamaki Farms; and also
of a branch road to the Farms on the South
West of Mount Hobson, together with every
other information may be obtained at the Office
of the Surveyor General.

CROWN GRANTS.

Auckland, 27th July, 1842.
THE under-mentioned Deeds of Grant are
now lying ready for delivery to the
Grantees, on application at this Office on and
after Monday, the 15th of August next, and
on presentation of the Colonial Treasurer's
Receipt.
In cases where it is impossible for the Grantee
to attend in person to receive his Deed, it will
be delivered to the Bearer of an authority
according to the subjoined form, and certified by
a Magistrate, or by a Solicitor of the Supreme
Court.
The days for the delivery of the Deeds will be
Monday and Tuesday in every week.
