Case No. 376 (a.)—THOMAS GRAHAM of Waihe-
ke, claimant.
A piece of land situate at Waiheke, adjoining
preceding claim, bounded by the north head of
Oripiu, running in a direct line to Otakawe, and
extending back one mile, having a frontage to
the beach, of one mile to the north-west head of
Otakawe. Contents not stated.

Alleged to have been purchased from the
native chief Ruinga, by claimant, in the
year 1839.
Consideration given to the natives..four blan-
kets, and £11 in money.
Nature of conveyance..deed in favour of claim-
ant, dated 20th December, 1839.

Case No. 377.—HENRY TODD APPLETON, Mar-
iner, claimant.
100, One hundred acres, more or less, situate
on the Pookula river, near to Tangitu, bounded
on the north-east by land claimed by Captain
Manning, on the north by the above named river,
and on the south-west by land claimed by Robert
Ireland Leitch, being part of land called Toko-
pakeeree,

Alleged to have been purchased from the native
chiefs Waikela, Mourra, and Nakeegeupayo, by
Captain James Leitch, who sold to Robert Ire-
land Leitch, who re-sold to claimant.
Considesation given to the natives..a quantity
of merchandise and £3 in money.
Nature of conveyance..deed dated 17th De-
cember, 1839,

Case No. 378. FRANCIS RUSSELL MANNING,
of
claimant.
200, Two hundred acres, more or less, situate
on the Pookula River, near Tangitu, bounded on
the north-east by land claimed by Captain
Bulzer; on the north by the abovenamed river;
on the south-west by land claimed by Mr. Apple-
ton; and on the south by a native track leading
to Tangitu.

Alleged to have been purchased from the native
chiefs, Waikela, Mouna, and Wakeigeupayo,
by Capt. James Leitch, who sold to Robert
Ireland Leitch, who resold to claimant.
Consideration given to the natives—a quantity
of merchandize, value not stated.
Nature of conveyance—a deed, dated 17th De-
cember, 1839.

Case No. 379.—ALEXANDER Ross, of Kaipara,
claimant.
1000, One thousand acres, more or less, si-
tuated on the river Wairoa, known by the name
of Wai Kaihunui, bounded in front by the river
Wairoa, and land belonging to Paikia; on the
east by land belonging to Tirerau, one hundred
chains; on the south by land belonging to Apa,
and a creek; and on the west by the river to the
commencement of the north or front boundary.

Alleged to have been purchased from the native
chiefs, Tirerau, Ko Wainga, and Paikia, by
present claimant, in the year 1839.
Consideration given to the natives—cash £70.
Nature of conveyance—an instrument in the
Maori language, under the hands of the said
chiefs, dated 17th December, 1839.

Case No. 379 (a).—ALEXANDER ROSS, of Kai-
para, claimant.
A piece of land, situate on the river Wairoa,
bounded on one side by land claimed by Edmund
Ruff, the boundary mark being a Kaikatea tree
on the bank of the river; on the front by the said
river one quarter of a mile; on the other side by
a creek called Kotewakatete, and running back
the same width for two miles.

Alleged to have been purchased from the native
chiefs, Paikia, Tirerau, and Wengia, by
claimant, in the year 1839.
Consideration given to the natives—one pound
deposit on amount of purchase money, £20.
Nature of conveyance—not stated,

Case No. 380.—RICHARD PALMER, of M'Donald
River, claimant.
5000, Five thousand acres, more or less, si-
tuate on the south-west side of Toaranga, or
Poverty Bay, boundaries not stated.

Alleged to have been purchased from the native
chiefs, Barhihook, Walkaghi, and Attookai,
by present claimant, in the year 1832.
Consideration given to the natives—cash and
merchandize to the amount of £52.
Nature of conveyance—not stated.

Case No. 381.—THOMAS BLACK, of the Bay of
Islands, claimant.
1500, One thousand five hundred acres, more
or less, situate on the East Coast, about five
south of Tuta Kaka, and bounded on the north-
east by the sea; on the south by a creek, called
Kowaitai; and on the west by the river Horolforo.

Alleged to have been purchased from the native
chiefs, Taiata, Pamako, Kapatai, and Toa,
by Thomas Black and William Green, in the
year 1839.
Consideration given to the natives—goods to
the value of £100.
Nature of conveyance—deed in favor of Thomas
Black and William Green.

Case No. 381 (a.)—THOMAS BLACK, of the Bay
of Islands, claimant.
10, Ten acres, more or less, situate on the
Waikaue river, bounded on the east by the Bay;
on the west by a raupo swamp; on the north by
the river Waikaue; and on the south by land
belonging to the natives.

Alleged to have been purchased from the na-
tive chief, Punauiku, by William Green and
J. H. Hitchcock, in 1836, and claimed by
Thomas Black, for the late firm of Black,
Green, and Stuart.
