Police Office, Wellington,
23rd November, 1841.

N OTICE is hereby given, that a Public Pound
has been erected at the corner of Cuba
and Manners-streets, (Ti Aro,) in the Town of
Wellington, and that Mr. James Henry Butler
has been this day duly appointed Keeper thereto,
under the provision of the act of the Governor and
Council of New South Wales, 4th William IV.
No.3, adopted in this Colony by the Ordinance
of the Governor and Council, 4th Victoria, No. 1.

Table of Rates to be charged for Trespass of Cattle and the sustenance thereof whilst
Impounded in the Town of Wellington, in the district of Port Nicholson, under
the provisions of the 4th William IV., No. 3rd and 4th Victoriæ, No. 1.

Description of Cattle so trespassing. In any forest or open pasture land, open stubble, after grass, or other unenclosed land. In any paddock of grass, enclosed by a good and substantial fence. In any garden, uncut meadow, or growing crop, enclosed by a prop of any kind, enclosed by a good and substantial fence. Amount to be charged daily for sustenance whilst impounded.
For every Horse, Mare, Gelding, Colt, Filly, Ass, Mule, Bull, Cow, Ox, Heifer Steer, or Calf...... 2s. 6s. Town 1s. Country 9d.
Forevery Ram, Ewe, Sheep, Lamb or Goat 3d. 4s. Town 4d. Country 1d.
For every Pig ..... 1s. 2d. Town 8d. Country 4d

Fixed by the Justices in Petty Sessions assembled at Wellington, on the 23rd day of November, 1841.

REWARD.

A REWARD OF THREE POUNDS will be
given upon the apprehension of each of the
men, descriptions of whom are subjoined, who
have absented themselves from Her Majesty's
Ship "Favorite" Thomas Ross Sulivan Esquire,
Commander, at Auckland, between the 1st and
4th instant,

Whoever is found secreting the parties in ques-
tion will be punished with the utmost rigour of
the Law.

DESCRIPTIONS.
JAMES FERGUSON, aged 22 years, height
6 feet, fresh complexion, grey eyes, dark brown
hair, fore and little finger marked with a deep scar.

G ORGE LEY, aged 23 years, height 5 feet
4 inches, ruddy complexion, hazel eyes, light
brown hair, a brig and anchor tattoed on right
arm, an anchor on right hand, crucifix on left arm.

JOHN BRUMACOURT, aged 22 years, height
5 feet 11 inches, dark complexion, blue eyes,
dark brown hair.

BRICKS.

N O eligible Tender having been received for
the supply to Government of the Bricks
advertised for on the 17th ultimo, Notice is
hereby given, that Tenders will be received at
this Office until noon on Wednesday, the 29th
instant, from persons willing to enter into a Con-
tract for supplying the Department of the Super-
intendent of Works with 90,000 (ninety
thousand) Bricks, to be delivered either in Com-
mercial or Mechanics' Bay, as required.

The Bricks will be required at different periods
between the 1st of January, and the 31st of
March, 1842, the first delivery to take place as
early as possible in January; not less than
30,000 to be delivered in each month.

Security will be required for the due perform-
ance of the Contract, and no Tender will be en-
tertained which is not accompanied by a letter
from two responsible parties, stating their willing-
ness to enter into a Bond accordingly.

The Bond will require to be signed within one
week from the date of the notification of the ac-
ceptance of the Tender.

Further information may be procured on appli-
cation at the Office of the Superintendent of
Public Works...

Parties Tendering, or their Agents, are re-
quested to attend at this Office on the above
mentioned day.
