PUBLIC ACCOUNTS.
A LL Persons having claims on the Colonial
Treasury are requested to furnish their ac-
counts through the proper channel before the end
of the year, or as soon thereafter as practicable.

HIS Excellency the GOVERNOR has been
pleased to direct that the attention of the
Heads of the various Departments of the Govern-
ment of this colony, and of the public in general,
be drawn to the following Regulations on the
subject of Accounts, which will be in force from
and after the 1st day of January, 1843
SALARIES,
The Abstracts of Salaries of the Officers holding
situations under the Government are directed to
be sent in to the Office of the Colonial Treasurer on
the 2nd day of the month succeeding that for which
they are due, when, if on examination they are found
to be correct, the salaries will be paid on the 8th.
WAGES.
The abstracts for mechanics and labourers
employed in the departments, must be transmitted
to the Colonial Treasury by the head of the de-
partment for whose service they are engaged, on
the 6th day of each month succeeding that for
which the wages are due, and if they prove cor-
rect in every respect they will be paid on the 12th.
ACCOUNTS FOR SUPPLIES, &c.
Parties furnishing Supplies to the various de-
partments for the Public Service, Contractors and
others, are required to send in the Bills of par-
ticulars, on the proper forms, to the head of each
department by the 2nd day of the month succeed-
ing that on which the Supplies were furnished.
These documents, certified by the officer who
received the Supplies, are to be transmitted by the
head of the department, enclosed in the usual
abstracts, to the Office of the Colonial Treasurer,
on the 8th, when, if found correct, and supported
by the proper authorities and vouchers, they will
be paid on the 14th.
All Accounts, together with the Vouchers and
Sub-Vouchers to the same, will in future be re-
quired in Duplicate only.
The heads of departments are particularly en-
joined to use their utmost exertions to give effect
to these arrangements, as well in pointing out to
persons having claims on Government, the nature
of the accounts to be given in, as in expediting
their transmission to the Treasury when furnished.

SALE OF GOVERNMENT STORES.
MR. MASON has received instructions to
offer for Public Sale, on THURSDAY, the
13th January, 1842, at the Government Store,
Auckland, at 12 o'clock precisely, a quantity of
STORES, consisting of Bullock and Cart Har-
ness, Shoemakers' Garden, Carpenters', and other
Tools, Slop Clothing, Blankets, &c., Further
particulars may be had by applying to the Auc-
tioneer or Colonial Storekeeper.

AUCKLAND COURT OF REQUESTS.
THE Commissioner hereby notified that a
Court of Requests for the District of
Auckland, will be holden at the Court House, on
Thursday, the sixth day of January next, at 10
o'clock in the forenoon of the same day.

QUARTER SESSIONS.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the next Ge-
neral Quarter Sessions of the Peace for
the District of Auckland, in the Colony of New
Zealand, will be holden at the Court House, in
Auckland, aforesaid, on Tuesday, the fourth
day of January next, at 10 o'clock in the fore-
noon, at which time and place all persons under
recognizance to appear either as Prosecutors,
Defendants, or Witnesses, or who may have Ap-
peals to interpose, or other business to transact,
are desired to give their attendance, and all
others interested and whose attendance is requi-
red, are hereby to take Notice accordingly.

COLONIAL BUILDINGS.

Auckland 15th Dec., 1841.
NOTICE is hereby given that Tenders will
be received at this Office until Noon of
MONDAY the 27th instant, from persons willing
to enter into Contract for the additions to be
made to the Court House, now in course of erec-
tion, to complete the plan already approved.
Security will be required for the due perform-
ance of the Contract, and no Tender can be en-
tertained which is not accompanied by a letter
from two responsible parties, stating their willing-
ness to enter into a bond accordingly.
The Bond will require to be signed within one
week from the date of the notification of the
acceptance of the Tender.
Tenders to be endorsedβ"Tender for additions
to the Court House."
Payment will be made by instalments as the
Work proceeds, subject to the report of the Su-
perintendent of Works, or other Officer appointed
to examine the same.
Plans and Specifications may be seen and
further particulars obtained at the Office of the
Superintendent of Public Works, Mechanic's Bay.
Parties Tendering, or their Agents, are reques-
ted to attend at this Office on the above named
day.
