NOTICE OF HEARING.

THE Commissioners appointed under the
Ordinance of Council, 4th Victoriæ, No. 2,
for hearing and reporting on Claims to Grants of
Land in New Zealand, hereby give Notice that
they will commence the investigation of the under-
mentioned Claims, at Russell, on Friday the 31st
December, at ten o'clock in the forenoon, when
all Parties interested are summoned to be in
attendance with their Documents and Witnesses.

Case No. 335.—JOHN NIELSON, of Sydney,
claimant.

Two Town Allotments at Okiato, described as
Nos. 53 and 54, in the Township of Kent,
bounded on the east by an intended street, called
Thomas-street, 214 feet; on the north by Lo,
52, and an intended street, called Oxford-street,
66 feet; on the west by Lot 56, and on south-
west and south by the Sea Beach, 214 feet.

Original purchasers from the natives not stated.
Purchased for present claimant by his agent, Mr.
Charles Perry, from Mr. James R. Clendon.
Consideration given to the natives—not stated.
Nature of conveyance—not stated.

Case No. 337.—J. M'LEOD, of the Bay of Islands,
claimant.

2 or 3, Two or three acres, more or less, si-
tuated on a hill near the watering-place at Koro-
rarika, called Waipaia, boundaries not stated.

Alleged to have been purchased from the native
chiefs Monganui and Romaneui, on the 9th
August, 1839, by present claimant.
Consideration given to the natives—Five pounds
in cash.
Nature of conveyance—not stated.

Case No. 337 (a)—J. M'LEOD, of the Bay of
Islands, claimant.

300, Three hundred acres, more or less, si-
tuated on the banks of the Waikari River, bound-
aries not stated.

Alleged to have been purchased of the native
chiefs Yakie, Tokey, Wykattio, and others,
on the 26th November, 1839, by claimant,
in conjunction with Edmund Powell and
William Dodds.
