sent Majesty Queen VICTORIA, intituled, "An
"Ordinance for instituting and regulating the
Courts of General and Quarter Sessions in the
Colony of New Zealand, and to authorize the
holding of Petty Sessions within the same, and
"for defining their respective places, and also
mining the places at which the same shall be
holden, and for repealing within the Colony of
"New Zealand, certain parts of the Council of
"Council of New South Wales adopted and now
"in force within the said Colony of New Zea-
"land," it is amongst other things enacted and
ordained, that it should be lawful for the Governor
for the time being, to appoint places at which
Petty Sessions should be holden.

Now I, the said Governor, in pursuance of the
power and authority so vested in me by the said in
part recited Ordinance, do hereby direct and ap-
point that the said Courts of Petty Sessions shall
be holden, during the present, and in each future
year, at the several and respective Places, and on
the Days and Times hereinafter respectively men-
tioned, that is to say, at

Auckland
Port Nicholson
Russell
Kororarika
Waimate
Hokianga
Kaitaia
Munganui
Wangarba
Kaipara
Mauranghi
Coromandel Harbour
Munakau
Kawia
Queen Charlotte's Sound
Cloudy Bay
Otago
Akaroa

Weekly, on every Tuesday, and such other days by
adjournment as the Justices shall find necessary.

Given under my Hand and Seal, at Go-
vernment House, Auckland, this tenth

IT being highly desirable that the Accounts of
this Colony, for the period during which it
was a Dependency of the Government of New
South Wales, be immediately closed, His Excel-
lency the GOVERNOR directs it to be notified to all
Persons having Claims upon this Government,
prior to the 3rd day of May last, that it is requisite
their accounts be furnished to the proper depart-
ments, on or before Wednesday, the 28th instant.

rects it to be notified, that the
NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT GA-
ZETTE will be published officially on
WEDNESDAY in each ensuing week,
commencing on WEDNESDAY next, the
7th day of July.

The Heads of the several Depart-
ments will be pleased to observe, that
it will be necessary to transmit to the
Colonial Secretary, by twelve o'clock
on Saturday, whatever is intended for
publication on the succeeding Wed-
nesday.
