TARANAKI DISTRICT.

Within a radius of twenty miles from the centre of the Town.

TENDERS will be received at this office until noon on WEDNESDAY, the 24th inst., for the Supply of STONE for the filling in of the Wharf in Commercial Bay.

Tenders to be in duplicate, and to state the price per ton at which the Stone will be delivered.

The description of Stone may be seen, and further particulars obtained upon application to the Clerk of Works, Royal Engineer Office.

HIS Excellency the LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR directs it to be notified for general information, that he has assigned to the Resident Magistrates at Auckland, Bay of Islands, Monganui, and New Plymouth respectively, the following districts for the purpose of taking the Census of the Province, according to the provisions of the Census Ordinance, 15 Victoria, Session XI., No. 8.

AUCKLAND DISTRICT.

Bounded on the South by a line drawn from the South Head of Kawhia to the South Head of Tauranga, on the North by a line from Manaho Point to the junction of the Wairoa and Kaihau Rivers, thence to the mouth of the Wairauua River, on the West and East by the Sea, including all the Islands adjacent thereto.

REFERRING to the Notice in the Government Gazette of October 5th, 1850, No. 19, appointing the Pound near Hobson’s Bridge to be a Public Pound for the Hundred of Auckland, His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor has been pleased further to appoint it to be the Public Pound for all purposes of the Impounding Ordinance within the whole district lying between the portage at the head of the Waitemata and Waihu Creeks and the portage between the Tamaki and Manukau at Otahuhu.
