NOTICE.

Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Auckland, 24th March, 1848.

His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified, that pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 4, Session 1, of the Town of “Howick,” is hereby appointed a place at which Petty Sessions shall be holden.

Notice is hereby also given that pursuant to the provisions of the said Ordinance, any two or more Justices of the Peace assembled and acting in open Court at “Howick,” aforesaid, will be, and be deemed to be, a Court of Petty Sessions; and that every such Court of Petty Sessions will have all the powers and authorities given to a Bench of Magistrates, by any law or ordinance in force within the Colony.

RATIONS FOR ROAD PARTIES.

Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Auckland, March 22nd, 1848.

TENDERS will be received at this Office until noon on Tuesday, the 28th inst., for the supply of Rations to the Natives on the Road parties, for Six Months.

The daily ration for each man to consist of:—

  • 1 lb Fresh Pork
  • 1 ½ lb Flour or bread
  • ½ lb Rice, or 2lbs Potatoes,

and to be delivered by the Contractor, at any distance not exceeding five miles from Auckland, on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday in each week.

The number of Natives employed will vary from three to four hundred, and any additional information which may be required, respecting terms of the Contract, &c. together with forms of Tender, may be obtained on application to the Superintendent of Roads, at the Office of the Surveyor-General.

Tenders to be in duplicate, sealed and endorsed “Tenders for rationing Road parties.”

HAND CARTS.

Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Auckland, 21st March, 1848.

TENDERS will be received at this Office until noon on Wednesday, the 29th inst., for the supply of 20 HAND CARTS, for the use of Working Parties of the Royal New Zealand Fencibles.

Tenders to be in duplicate, sealed and endorsed “Tenders for Hand Carts.”

MAIZE AND BRAN.

Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Auckland, 21st March, 1848.

TENDERS will be received at this Office until noon on Monday, the 27th inst., for the supply of MAIZE and BRAN, in such quantities as may be required for the Public service, during the six months ending 30th September, 1848.

The Tenders to state the price per bushel at which the Maize and Bran will be delivered at the Government Stables in Mechanics’ Bay, or at Howick, as may be required.


FERRY BOAT FOR TAMAKI.

Auckland, 24th March, 1848.

TENDERS will be received at this Office until noon on Tuesday, the 24th April, for Building A PUNT, for the Ferry at Point England, on the Tamaki River.

Particulars regarding the description of Boat required may be obtained on application to the Harbour Master.

Tenders to be in duplicate, sealed and endorsed “Tender for Ferry Boat.”
