PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency Major-General
George Dean Pitt, Knight of the
Royal Hanoverian Guelphic Order,
Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of New Ulster, &c. &c. &c.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance enacted by the Lieutenant Governor of New Zealand with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, Session 8, No. 4, intituled “The Savings’ Bank Ordinance,” provision was made for the management of all Savings’ Banks within the Colony which should be proclaimed to come within the operation of the said recited Ordinance.

And, whereas, a Savings’ Bank hath been established at Auckland, and it is expedient that the said Bank should be brought within the operation of the Savings’ Bank Ordinance.

Now, I, the Lieutenant-Governor, do hereby proclaim and declare, that from and after the date hereof, the said Savings’ Bank to be called the “Auckland Savings’ Bank” shall be deemed and taken to come within the operation of the said recited Ordinance.

Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of New Ulster, at Government House, Auckland, this twenty-first day of February in the Year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-eight.

HIS Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor directs it to be notified for general information, that he will receive Public Officers or other Gentlemen wishing to see him, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, in each week, at Government House, between the hours of 12 and 3 o’clock.

TENDERS in duplicate will be received at this office, until Wednesday, the 1st day of March, 1848, from parties desirous of supplying

ONE DRAY,

for the use of the Colonial Government.

Parties desirous of tendering can obtain any information at the office of the Superintendent of Works.

Tenders to be sealed and endorsed “Tenders for Dray”
