PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency SIR GEORGE GREY, a Knight Commander of the most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, and Governor of the Province of New Ulster and New Munster, and Vice Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS by a certain Ordinance enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of New Munster, with the advice of the Legislative Council thereof, Session I., No.11, intituled "An Ordinance to abate the Dog Nuisance," it is provided that "upon the requisition of the majority of Magistrates of any District, the Lieutenant-Governor may proclaim the said Ordinance to be in operation."

And whereas such requisition has been made by a majority of the Magistrates of the District of Akaroa.

Now therefore, I, the Governor of the Province of New Munster, do hereby proclaim and declare that for the purposes of the said in part recited Ordinance to abate the Dog Nuisance, the boundaries of the township of Akaroa in the Middle Island of New Zealand, shall be hereafter known as follows :—On the north the northern extremities of Hippolite Gendrot's, Pierre Benoit's, and James Dulac's land, and from thence a direct line to the north eastern extremity of Pierre Gendrot's land. On the south the southern extremity of C. B. Robinson's paddock fence, and also the southern extremities of Malcolm Mc Kennon's and James Reid's present cultivations, and on the east, an almost direct line from the north-eastern point of Pierre Gendrot's land, taking in Mr. Watson's garden, and François Lelieve and François Melmanche's land, and from thence a direct line to the south-eastern extremity of James Reid's cultivations, and on the west the harbour and the German Bay road.

This Proclamation shall take effect from and after the day of the date hereof.

GIVEN under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of New Munster, in the Islands of New Zealand, at Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day of November, in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and fifty-two.
