HIS EXCELLENCY the Governor has been pleased to appoint
HENRY ST. HILL, Esquire,
to perform, temporarily, the several duties of Sir Godfrey Thomas, Auditor-General and Manager of the Bank of Issue in the Province of New Munster, until further arrangements are made, should such be found necessary.

HIS EXCELLENCY the Governor has been pleased to appoint the following Native Chiefs:
PATUA TAU, of Raupahi, in the District of Canterbury, and
HAKOPA TE ATAOTU, of Kaiapoi, also in the District of Canterbury,
to be Assessors for the above mentioned localities, under the “Resident Magistrates Ordinance,” No. 16, of Session VII.
