of Wellington, in the said Province of New Munster and I hereby appoint and declare that the said District of Wellington shall be divided into two districts the names and boundaries of which shall, for the present, be as follows:
District of Whanganui.
All that part of the District of Wellington (as the same is described in the aforesaid Proclamation of the 15th May, 1848,) which is based-on the North by the line dividing the Province of New Ulster, from New Munster, on the East by the Rua Whaine Range, on the South by the Manawatu River, and on the West by the Sea, shall be called the District of Whanganui and shall be the district of the Deputy Registrar thereof, for the purposes of the said Ordinance.
District of Wellington.
The remainder of the said District of Wellington as described in the Proclamation of the 15th May, aforesaid, shall be called the district of Wellington, and shall be the district of the Deputy Registrar thereof, for the purposes of the said Ordinance.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of New Munster, in the Islands of New Zealand, at Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one.
