PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Sir George Grey,
a Knight Commander of the most
Honorable Order of the Bath, Go-
vernor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over the Islands of New Zea-
land, and Governor of the Provinces
of New Ulster and New Munster,
and Vice Admiral of the same, &c.,
&c., &c.
WHEREAS, by an Ordinance passed by
the Lieutenant-Governor of New
Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council thereof, intituled
"An Ordinance to amend the Customs Or-
dinance, Session I, No. 3, and the Customs
Amendment Ordinance, Session III, No. 6,"
No. 8 of Session VIII, 1846, it is amongst
other things enacted that "it shall be lawful
for His Excellency the Governor (or Lieu-
tenant-Governor) from time to time by Pro-
clamation to appoint and define proper
places within the several ports of the colony
to be legal Quays or Landing Places for the
lading and unlading of goods."
Now therefore in pursuance of the power
in me vested by the said in part recited Or-
dinance, I do hereby proclaim and declare
that part of the Beach of Lambton Harbor,
extending from the point on the said Beach
at which Rhodes’ Wharf begins to that
point at which Plimmer’s Wharf ends, to be
a legal Quay or Landing Place for the la-
ding and unlading of goods.
Given under my hand, and issued
under the Public Seal of the Pro-
vince of New Munster, in the Is-
lands of New Zealand, at Govern-
ment House, at Wellington, this
twenty-first day of August, in the
year of Our Lord One thousand
eight hundred and fifty-one.

PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Sir George Grey,

and over the Islands of New Zea-
land, and Governor of the Provinces
of New Ulster and New Munster,
and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c.,
&c., &c.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by
the Governor-in-Chief of the New
Zealand Islands, by and with the consent
of the Legislative Council thereof, intituled,
"An Ordinance for the Naturalization of
certain persons in the Islands of New Zea-
land," it is enacted, "that all and singular
the persons who shall be declared to come
within the operation of this Ordinance by
any Proclamation to be issued in that behalf
by His Excellency the Governor-in-Chief,
shall be deemed and taken until the next
Session of the General Legislature, within
the Islands of New Zealand, to be natural
born subjects of Her Majesty, as fully to all
intents and purposes as if their names had
respectively been inserted in the Schedule,"
annexed to the aforesaid Ordinance.
Now therefore, I, the Governor-in-Chief,
in pursuance of the power and authority in
me vested by the said in part recited Ordi-
nance do hereby proclaim and declare that
the persons whose names are underwritten
shall be deemed and taken to be natural
born subjects of Her Majesty from the date
set opposite their names respectively until
the next Session of the Legislative Council
of the Islands of New Zealand.
