HIS Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor has been pleased to appoint
Joseph Thomas, Esquire,
to lay informations under the 1st Clause
of the “Native Land Purchase Ordinance,” No. 19, of Session 7, against
persons acting contrary to the provisions
of the said Ordinance, within the limits
of Banks’ Peninsula, and the country
lying between it and the West Coast, so
far as the same is included in the purchases effected by Messrs. Kemp and
Mantell.

HIS Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor has been pleased to appoint George Darrymple Monteith, Esquire, of Wellington, in the Province of New Munster, a Medical Practitioner, under the Ordinance of the Provincial Council passed on the 18th day of May, 1849, intituled “An Ordinance to define the Qualifications, and to provide for the remuneration in certain cases of Medical Practitioners.” Session I, No. 2.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR directs it to be notified, that
the following Schedule of Rates estimated, according to the provisions of the 8th and 9th clauses of the “Ordinance to authorise and regulate the Impounding of Cattle,” Session VIII. No. 6, at a Special Meeting of the Magistrates of the District of Otago, have been allowed and confirmed.

NOTICE.

Wellington, 21st May, 1850.
THE Lieutenant-Governor directs it to be notified for general information,
that from and after the 3rd day of June,
1850, the date on which it has by proclamation been appointed that the Wellington Branch of the Colonial Bank of Issue shall be opened, all payments on the public account, to or by any department of the Colonial Government throughout the Province of New Munster, must be made either in notes of the said Bank of Issue, or in the current gold and silver of the realm.
