All Public Notifications which may appear in this Gazette, with any Official Signature thereto annexed, are to be considered as Official Communications made to those Persons to whom they may relate, and are to be obeyed accordingly.

PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Edward John Eyre, Esquire, Lieutenant-Governor
L. S. of the Province of New Munster, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c.
WHEREAS, by an Ordinance passed by the Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of New Munster, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, Session I, No. 9, intituled “An Ordinance to increase the efficiency of the Constabulary Force,” it is enacted, that “the provisions of this Ordinance shall immediately be in force within such limits of the Town of Wellington, as marked on the Map of the Surveyor-General of the New Zealand Company, as the Lieutenant-Governor with the advice of the Executive Council may proclaim.”
Now, therefore, I, the Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of New Munster, aforesaid, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby proclaim and declare that the hereinbefore in part recited Ordinance, shall come into operation within the limits of the Town of Wellington, as laid down in the Map of the Surveyor-General of the New Zealand Company aforesaid, from and after the date hereof.
Given under my Hand, and Issued under the Public Seal of the Province of New Munster, in the Islands of New Zealand, at Government House, at Wellington, this 22nd day of May, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fifty.
