PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency Edward John Eyre, Esquire, Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of New Munster, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c, &c, &c.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Legislative Council of New Zealand, Session 8, No. 5; intituled the "Slaughter House Ordinance," and by an Ordinance of the Provincial Legislative Council of New Munster, Session I., No. 15, intituled the "Empowering Ordinance," His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor is authorized by Proclamation, from time to time to constitute and define certain districts for the purpose of regulating the slaughtering of Cattle.

And Whereas by a Proclamation dated the 24th May, 1848, the Town of Wellington, as laid down in the authorized Plans of the New Zealand Company was declared to come within the operation of the aforesaid Ordinance.

And Whereas it is expedient to extend the limits of such operation.

Now Therefore I, the Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of New Munster, in pursuance of the powers by the said Ordinances in me vested, do hereby declare that the whole of the districts of Porirua and Port Nicholson within the limits delineated and described in the Plans attached to the Crown Grants of those districts respectively and entered of record in the Office of the Colonial Secretary at Wellington, that is to say, the whole Tract between the sea, the Northern boundary line of the Porirua block, and the Tarakiriri Ranges, (or the Eastern boundary-line of the Port Nicholson block) shall, from and after the date hereof form a district for the purposes of the aforesaid Ordinance to regulate the slaughtering of Cattle.

Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of New Munster in the Islands of New Zealand at Government House at Wellington this twenty-first day of November in the Year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty.
