HIS EXCELLENCY the Lieutenant-Governor has been pleased to direct the publication of the following Dispatch from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, for general information.

Sir,
I have to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch No. 99, of the 16th July last, accompanied by various enclosures from the Lieutenant-Governor of New Munster, expressive of the feeling of the Settlers against the introduction of Exiles or of Convicts with tickets of leave into New Zealand.
It is unnecessary for me say more in answer than to refer you to my previous Despatches acquainting you that no Convicts would be sent to New Zealand.
