NOTICE.

Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Wellington, 28th July, 1848.

RESPECTING an advertisement which appeared in the Government Gazette for this Province, dated October 9th, 1847, No. 4: His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor directs it to be notified for general information, that from representations which have been made to him, His Excellency deems it necessary to warn persons against depasturing Stock or otherwise forming locations contrary to the provisions of the “Native Land Purchase Ordinance,” Session 7, No. 10, at any part on the line of coast between Waikanae and Wangaihu, or inland between the same limits; as the Government will immediately enforce the terms of the said Ordinance against persons so offending.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR has been pleased to appoint

DAVID STARK DURIE, ESQUIRE,

to lay informations under the 1st Clause of the “Native Land Purchase Ordinance,” No. 19, of Session 7, against persons acting contrary to the provisions of the said Ordinance, between Porirua and Wangaihu, and inland from that line of coast.
