NOTICE.
Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Wellington, 15th June, 1848.
HIS EXCELLENCY THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR directs it to be notified, that the establishment of Trustees for the Native Reserves, as originally contemplated, having never been carried out, and the Government having appointed Boards of Management in the Province of New Munster,
All persons at present holding or occupying Native Reserves under the late Trustees, (or under Agents nominated by them,) or who may wish hereafter to occupy or hold any of such Reserves, are hereby called upon to substantiate their claims, or to make application (as the case may be) for leases of such lands, to the Boards of Management of Native Reserves, under whose recommendation Government will be prepared at once to grant leases, of either town or country lands, upon the terms and subject to the conditions approved of by the Board.
His Excellency further directs it to be notified, that all persons who neglect to make application to the said Boards, on or before the 31st July next, will forfeit any claim to consideration in regard to arrangements entered into, but not entirely concluded, with the late Trust.
All communications or applications connected with the Native Reserves, to be addressed to “The Board of Management of Native Reserves,” at the Colonial Secretary’s Office, Wellington, or at the Office of his Honor the Superintendent Nelson, as the case may require.
Plans showing the Native Reserves in or around Wellington, which are open to lease, will be prepared as soon as possible and left at the Colonial Secretary’s Office for public inspection.

TENDERS will be received at this Office, on or before Saturday, the 24th instant, for the Supply of Rations to the Gaol at Wellington; also of Hospital Stores and Provisions for Natives, for the Half-Year ending the 31st December, 1848.

Hospital Stores and Provisions for Natives
Beef, Mutton, Flour, Arrowroot,
Sago, Rice, Tea, Sugar, Oatmeal,
Salt, Yellow Soap, Heart Barley,
Mixed Vegetables, Potatoes,
Loaf Sugar, Treacle, and Bread,
Eggs, @ dozen.
Milk, @ pint.
Port Wine, @ dozen.
Porter, ... " gallon.
Brandy, ... " "
Vinegar, ... "
Fowls, each.
Lamp Oil, @ gallon.
Linseed Oil, ... "
The whole of which Articles are to be subject to the approval of the Colonial Surgeon.
Also for such Supplies of Meat (Salt and Fresh), Flour, &c., as may be required for the Service of the Colonial Brig Victoria, when in Harbour.
Tenders for Rations, or Hospital Stores, &c., may embrace the whole or any portion of the above-mentioned Articles, and should be in Duplicate, Sealed, and Endorsed “Tenders for Gaol Rations, &c.,” as the case may be.

NO Eligible Tender having been received for the Supplies and Services required by the Local Government on account of the Hospital intended to be built at Wangaui,—Tenders from persons desirous of undertaking them will be received at this office until further notice.

Information respecting the description of Forms may be obtained at this Office.
Also, for the Printing of the Government Gazette, at per sheet, for two hundred copies.
Tenders to be in duplicate, sealed and endorsed “Tenders for Printing Forms, or Government Gazette.”
