Plumber’s Work.
To fit and fix pump, pipes, gutters,
lining for steam-bath, and all other necessary work, the Government finding
the materials for the whole job.
Tenders may be sent in either for
wholly building the Hospital and supplying every thing; or for furnishing all or
any of the supplies; or for performing
all or any of the services above specified;
or tenders may be sent in from good
mechanics who are sober and industrious,
stating the terms by day-work, or otherwise, on which they are willing to go to
Wanganui and undertake any of the
work required.
Further particulars and all other requisite information may be obtained on
application at the Survey Office, Wellington.
No one need tender who cannot produce a respectable person willing to become security for the due performance of
the service tendered for.

all Publicans’ Licenses, for the year
ending 30th June, 1849, must be taken
out on or before the 30th June, 1848.

APPLICATIONS WILL BE RECEIVED at this Office, on or
before the 15th day of June next, from
persons desirous of obtaining Licences
for Slaughter-Houses, or places for
Slaughtering Cattle within the limits of
the Town of Wellington, to commence
on the 1st day of July, 1848, and to terminate on the 30th day of June, 1849.
Any person desirous of obtaining such
Licence must describe, in the notice of
his intention to apply for such Licence,
the House or Place intended to be
licensed.

A SPECIAL Meeting of the Justices
of the Peace for this District will
be held at the Resident Magistrate’s
Court, Wellington, on Thursday, the 15th
day of June next, for the purpose of receiving applications from persons desirous
of obtaining Licences for Slaughter-Houses, or Places for Slaughtering Cattle
within the limits of the Town of Wellington, for the year 1848-49, commencing
on the 1st day of July next.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR directs it to be notified
that, pursuant to the provisions of the
“Impounding Ordinance, No. 6, Session
8,” Two Public Pounds have been
erected within the settlement of Nelson:
One in the Town of Nelson, and the
other in the District of Waimea East.
Also, that THOMAS SULLIVAN has been
appointed to the charge of the former,
and WILLIAM ROBINSON, to the charge
of the latter.
