hereby proclaim and declare that on and after the First day of July, 1848, the Towns of Wellington, Nelson, Petre, and Dunedin, (Otakou,) in the Province of New Munster, the limits and bounds whereof respectively shall be such as are described and delineated in the New Zealand Company’s authorized Plans of the said Towns, shall come within the operation of the said Ordinance.
Given under my Hand, at Government House, Wellington, New Munster, this Twenty-fourth day of May, in the Year of Our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and forty-eight.

NATIVE HOSPITAL, WANGANUI.
TENDERS will be received at this Office, until Saturday, the 10th June, from persons willing to contract for the under-mentioned supplies, or services required by the Local Government, on account of a Hospital, about to be built at Wanganui.
SUPPLIES.
About 40,000 feet of sawn timber at ... per 100 feet.
20,000 shingles, (15x4) at ... per 1000.
15,000 best hard bricks, at ... per 1000.
60 bushels of stone lime at ... per bushel.
All the above to be delivered and properly stacked on the banks of the Wanganui River, at the Town Allotment laid down in the New Zealand Company’s Maps as the Hospital site. All the shingles and most of the timber to be of hard woods. Those from Australia or Van Diemen’s Land would be preferred.
SERVICES.
Carpenter’s Work
1st.—To do all the work required in the Building, in a proper and workmanlike manner, and according to the Plans and Specifications, (excepting the shingling, and the making the doors and windows, which will be done separately,) for the whole job.
2nd.—To make and deliver in Wellington about 350 feet ofledged doors; finding all the materials, at ... per foot.
3rd.—To make and deliver in Wellington about 400 feet of windows, finding all materials and glazing, at ... per foot.
Shingler’s Work.
To batten and shingle all the roofing at ... per square, (nails being found by Government.)
Bricklayer’s Work.
To lay the foundations, build the chimneys, soil pit, barrel drain, &c., and plaster the chimney breasts, finding all labor for the whole work.
Painting.
To give the whole of the wood-work, inside and outside the building, three good coats of Paint, of approved colors, for the whole work.
