Tenders to be delivered at the Police Station, Waikanae,
to be delivered in Wellington, by the 20th instant:—

  • 3000 Three Thousand Bricks.
  • 15 Fifteen Bushels Lime.
  • 140 One Hundred and Forty Feet Window Glass, 10 in. x 8 in.
  • 200 Two Hundred lbs. 3 in. Weather Boarding Nails.
  • 60 Sixty lbs. 2 1/2 in. Cast Nails.
  • 10 Ten lbs. 4 in. Milled Nails.
  • 20 Twenty lbs. 2 in. Clasp Nails.
  • 50 Fifty lbs. Shankle Nails.
  • 1 One 8 in. Iron Rim Lock, with Screws for do.
  • 12 Eleven 6 in. do. do.
  • 10 Ten 9 in. Tower Bolts, with Screws for do.
  • 8 Eight Thumb Latches, with Screws for do.
  • 22 Twenty-two Pair T Hinges, with do.
  • 20 Twenty do. 3 in. Butt Hinges, with do.

CONTRACTS—PUBLIC WORKS.
SEALED TENDERS in Duplicate will be received at this Office up to 12 o’Clock of Saturday the 12th instant, for the erection of

A TIMBER BRIDGE

over the River Mangatarere on the Wairarapa Road. The Plans and Specifications of which may be seen on application at the Survey Office, Wellington.

Also for Cartage Services on the Wairarapa Road between the Gorge and the Hutt Bridge, at per diem for each Horse, Cart and Driver. Each person tendering to state the number of Carts he will engage to furnish.

Also for Plumbers work to be done to the Native Hospital. Particulars to be obtained at the above office.

Tenders to be endorsed “Tenders for erection of Bridge over Mangatarere,” &c., as the case may be.

SOME misunderstanding having occurred with reference to the extent and character of the work contemplated in the Repairs required for the beach road at Wellington, and no eligible Tender having been received in consequence. Notice is hereby given that for the present it is only intended to continue the existing Breastwork for a distance sufficient to make the Road passable and secure for carts.

Sealed Tenders, in Duplicate, will accordingly be received at this Office, until noon, of Saturday, the 12th instant, for continuing and completing about 300 feet of additional Breastworks, to be of exactly the same character, and to be executed in the same manner, as that now existing.

Tenders to be endorsed “Tenders for Repairing Beach Road.”

Wellington, 31st August, 1847.

SEALED TENDERS in Duplicate will be received at this Office until noon of Saturday, the 12th instant, for putting up a new Fencing around the whole of the Domain adjoining the Government House, at Wellington.

The Fencing to be a strong close paling, five feet in height, well paled to a 2-railed fence, of which the posts and rails shall not be less than seven inches in width, and three inches in thickness, and the posts to be charred and sunk three feet in the ground.

One large gate and three smaller ones to be put up where required, will have to be included in the Tender, which must be for executing the whole Work, at so much per rod.

It will be expected that the fencing is put up so as to preserve a uniform and level appearance, and to ensure its security and stability.
