PROCLAMATION.

By his Honor JOHN WALLIS BARNICOAT, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Colony of New Zealand, &c., &c.

WHEREAS by \"The Protection of Animals Act, 1873,\" it is provided that no game shall be hunted, shot, taken, or killed in any Province until the same shall have been proclaimed as open for that purpose: And whereas a proclamation was issued by OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, dated the 8th day of May, 1876, declaring that Pheasants and Quail may be shot from the 15th day of May till the 30th day of June then next, within certain limits described in the said Proclamation, by persons duly licensed under the above recited Act: And whereas it is desirable to extend the time within which Quail may be shot, within the limits so described:

Now, therefore I, JOHN WALLIS BARNICOAT, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, do hereby proclaim and declare that Quail may be shot within the boundaries described in the Proclamation aforesaid, dated the 8th day of May, 1876, until the 30th July next inclusive.

Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province, this 27th day of June, 1876.

IT is hereby notified for general information that, in accordance with the provisions of \"The Education Act, 1863,\" the undermentioned persons were duly elected members of the Local Committee of Education for the district of Aorere, at the annual meeting, of ratepayers held at the school-house, Collingwood, on the 9th instant, viz:—

THE Superintendent directs it to be notified that the following gentlemen have been appointed Rangers for the Province of Nelson under the provisions of \"The Protection of Animals Act, 1873,\" viz:—

DAVID DONALD, of Totara Flat,
JAMES FRY JOHNSTONE, of Little Grey, and
S. M. MACKLEY, of Waipuna.
