ALTERATION OF ROADS.

THE undersigned hereby gives notice, that he intends to Apply to two or more Justices of the Peace having jurisdiction within the Province of Nelson, at a sitting to be held on Monday, the 1st day of March now next, at the Court-house, Spring Grove, for an order for Stopping Up and Diverting the undermentioned Roads: and further, that he will cause survey plans of the several roads proposed to be stopped up and substituted, together with Books of Reference and Estimates, to be deposited, on or before the 2nd day of February next, with the Clerk to the Magistrates at Richmond, and with Mr. C. Knapp, Constable for Waimea South, and Mr. G. Walker, Constable for Waimea West:—

To Stop Up a certain road commencing at a point 19 1/2 chains from the E. side of Section 1 of 8, Pigeon Valley, and proceeding 38 1/2 chains W N W, through Sections 1 of 3, 17, and 1 of 1, and terminating at a point 2 1/2 chains from the E. side of Section 1 of 1; also another road, 3 chains long, branching off N.E. from the first-named road, and terminating at the proposed new road.

And to Substitute a certain other road, now made and in use, 42 chains long, and 60 links wide, commencing and terminating at the same points as the road proposed to be stopped up, and proceeding N.W. and W. through other parts of the before-named Sections.

To Stop Up a certain road in Trass's Valley, Waimea South, commencing at a point about 16 chains from the bank of the Waiti river, and going 34 chains N.W through Sections 154, 155, 1 of Block 1, and 48 of Square 4, and terminating at the S. side of the road now in use on section 48, excepting the portion intersected by proposed new road.

And to Substitute a certain other road, now made and in use, commencing and terminating at the same point as the road proposed to be stopped up, and proceeding 20 1/2 chains, with a width of 30 links, through Section 155, and 14 chains, with a width of 1 chain, through Section 1 of Block 1.

To Stop Up a certain road in Dovedale, proceeding for 10 1/2 chains along the Western side of Section 72, Square 2, commencing at a point about 22 chains from the junction of road to Thorpe and Moutere, and terminating at a point where the Moutere road crosses the said Section 72.

And to Substitute a certain other road, 1 chain wide, now made and in use, commencing and terminating at the same points as the road proposed to be stopped up, and going 17 chains along the Eastern side of Section 71.
