along eastern bank of said river to a point
opposite the junction of the River Baton,
thence crossing River Motueka to said
point of junction south bank of Baton,
thence in a line due west to the dividing
range between East and West Coasts,
thence in a straight line to the junction of
the River Leslie with the Karamea, thence
in a straight line to Mount Snowdon,
where this description commences.
And I do hereby further proclaim and declare that
all rates made by the several Boards of the Panga-
totara District, the Moutere District, the Motueka
District, and the Riwaka District, as heretofore con-
stituted and existing under the said Act, and being
and remaining unpaid on the 28th day of June 1875,
shall be deemed to be rates due and payable to the
Board for the time being of the Motueka District as
hereby constituted, and any such rates may be col-
lected, sued for, and recovered in the same manner
as if made by the Board of the Motueka District, as
hereby constituted, and remaining in arrears.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public
seal of the Province, at Nelson, this 29th day of
June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
five.

PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent
of the Province of Nelson, in the Colony of
New Zealand, &c., &c.
WHEREAS by an Act passed by the Superinten-
dent and Provincial Council of the Province
of Nelson intituled "The Nelson Highways Act,
1872," it is amongst other things enacted that for
the purpose of electing members of the Board for
any District it shall be lawful for the Superintendent
from time to time if he shall think fit by Proclama-
tion in the Government Gazette to divide any District
or Districts into Sub-Districts, and to apportion the
number of members for the whole District between
such Sub-Districts as he shall think proper. And
whereas a certain District has been constituted under
the said Act called the Upper Motueka District.
And whereas by a certain proclamation bearing date
the eighteenth day of June, 1874, and issued under
my hand as Superintendent of the Province of Nel-
son, the said District was divided into two Sub-Dis-
tricts therein particularly mentioned and described.
And whereas it is expedient that the said Proclama-
tion should be revoked, and that the said District
should be divided into three Sub-Districts.
Now, therefore, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, pursuant to, and in exercise of the power and authority vested in me in that behalf by the said recited Act, do hereby revoke the said Proclamation of the eighteenth day of June, 1874, and proclaim and declare that the Upper Motueka District shall be divided into the following Sub-Districts, that is to say :—
- STANLEY BROOK.
- TADMOR.
- MOTUPIKO.
And the boundaries of such Sub-Districts shall be as follows :—

STANLEY BROOK.
Commencing at the south-Western corner of section 103, square 6; thence to the Southern corner of said section; thence in a straight line to the North-Western angle of section 135, square 2; thence in a straight line to Nicholson's Well; thence by the dividing range between Stanley Brook and the River Motueka to the Northern angle of section 52, square 6; thence by the Eastern boundary of said section to Northern angle of section 70; thence by North-Western boundary of said section to the River Motueka; thence by the River Motueka to the point of starting. -
TADMOR.
Commencing at the North-Western angle of section 70, square 6, following the division line between 70 and 71, and the Northern boundary of 52 to its Northern angle; thence by the dividing range to Nicholson's Well; thence by the Wai-iti Hills to the South-Western corner of section 29, square 4; thence by the southern boundary of the said section to its South-East angle; thence in a straight line to the South-East angle of the Waimea District; thence in a straight line to the source of the Motupiko; thence following the range to the junction of the Hope and Buller; thence in a straight line to the range at the source of the Tadmor; thence by the dividing range between the Tadmor and Motupiko to the North-Western corner of section 87; thence by the Northern boundary of said section to the River Motueka, and thence across the river; and thence to the point of starting, being the North-West angle of section 70. -
MOTUPIKO.
Commencing at the South-West angle of the Pangatotara District near the source of the Baton; thence in a straight line to the mouth of the Baton; thence by the River Motueka to the North-East corner of section 87, square 5; thence to the North-West corner of the said section; thence to the dividing range between the Tadmor and Motupiko; thence by the said range to the source of the Tadmor; thence in a straight line to the junction of the Hope and Buller Rivers; thence in a straight line to the saddle between the Wangapeka and Karamea; thence in a straight line to the point of starting, being the summit of range near the source of the River Baton.
And each such Sub-District shall elect two members of the Board for the District.
