PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent
of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of
New Zealand, &c., &c.

WHEREAS, by an Act passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province
of Nelson, intituled, \"The Nelson Highways Act,
1872,\" it is amongst other things enacted that it
shall be lawful for the Superintendent from time to
time to constitute and appoint certain Districts in
which the said Act shall come into operation and
the limits of such districts; from time to time to
alter, as occasion shall require, and to make such
other provisions as he shall think necessary for carrying into effect the said Act. And whereas certain
Districts have been constituted under the said Act,
called respectively the Pangatotara District, the
Moutere District, the Motueka District, and the
Riwaka District; And whereas it is necessary that
provisions should be made for carrying into effect the
said Act by consolidating the whole of the said
Districts into one District under the said Act.

Now, therefore, I, the Superintendent of the Province
of Nelson, pursuant to and in exercise of the power
and authority vested in me in that behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the limits of the several
District hereinbefore mentioned, namely:--The Panga-
totara District, the Moutere District, the Motueka
District, and the Riwaka District, as constituted
under the said Act respectively, shall be, and such
limits are hereby, altered so that the whole of the
said Districts shall be consolidated into and form one
certain District, which District I do hereby constitute and appoint to be called the Motueka District,
in which the said Act shall come into operation; and
the limits of the Motueka District so constituted and
appointed I hereby declare to be as follows:--

Bounded on the northward by the Takaka Dis-
trict, from Mount Snowdon in an easterly
direction to the dividing range between the
East and West Coast, thence along the
dividing range to a point due west of
Torrent Basin, thence in a direct line east
to Torrent Basin, thence by the Coast
southward to section 194, square 2, thence
by the eastern boundary of said section 194
and section 192, thence to the eastern
corner of section 69, thence by eastern
boundary of said section 69, western bound-
aries of 36, 39, 38, and 37, thence in a
straight line to eastern corner of section
188, square 2, thence along boundary
between sections 188 and 173, thence in a
straight line to section 126, thence along
southern boundary of said section 126,
thence in a straight line to south-west
corner of section 161, thence in a
straight line to south-east corner of sec-
tion 114, square 2, thence along south-
east boundary of said section 114 to section
113, thence south-east along said section
113 to its south-east corner, thence south-
west along boundaries of sections 113, 112,
and 111, thence to north corner of section
139, thence westerly to south-east corner of
section 10 Thorpe Suburban to northern
