other disposal of the Waste Lands of the
Crown within the Province of Nelson, and
all land known to be auriferous, or to contain
minerals of value.
- MATIRI BLOCK.
All that block of land on the north side of the
river Buller, containing 25,000 acres, or thereabouts,
the boundaries being as follows, viz.—
Commencing at a point near peg No. 430 of Mr.
Foster's traverse thence North for a distance
of six miles; thence West for a distance of
seven miles; thence South to the bank of the
river Buller to the mouth of the small stream
running into the river Buller at the western
boundary of Mr. Jecklyn's freehold land; and
thence by the bank of the river Buller to the
said point near peg No. 430. Excepting all
lands held under license or lease, or which are
now under application for lease or license
under any of the provisions of the Goldfields
Act, 1866, or any Act amending the same
now or heretofore in force regulating the
sale, leasing, or other disposal of the
Waste Lands of the Crown within the Pro-
vince of Nelson, and all land known to be
auriferous or to contain valuable minerals.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public
seal of the Province, this twenty-eighth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-three.

JOHN MOLLOY is hereby authorised, under the
Provisions of Section XIII of "The Goldfields
Act, 1866," to keep a Ferry Boat on the Totara River,
and charge tolls, until the 31st December, 1873, as per
schedule, on the following conditions:—
-
That a competent Ferryman be always in
attendance, with a good safe boat and
proper rope for crossing horses. -
That all Government Officers, including road
overseers, laborers, and postmen, when on
duty, shall be ferried across the said river
free of charge,
This protection shall not be transferred without the
sanction of the Superintendent.
The Warden of the District shall, on being satisfied
that the Ferry service is not being conducted in a
proper and efficient manner, and in accordance with
the above conditions, have power to suspend the
operation of this protection until the matter of com-
plaint be removed.

IT is hereby notified that it is intended, after the
expiration of Two Months from the date hereof,
to Grant Leases for Gold-mining purposes, of the
Crown Lands within the District of the Nelson South-
west Goldfields, hereinafter described, viz.:—
-
A block of land containing six acres, more or
less, situated at German Terrace, Buller
District. Applied for by Jacob Jacobsen
and others. -
A block of land containing sixteen acres and
two roods, more or less, situated on the
Northern Slope of Mount Rochfort, Buller
District. Applied for by Francis Henry
Overhagen. -
A block of land containing ten acres, more or
less, situated on Caroline Terrace, between
Addison's Flat and Buller road, Buller
District. Applied for by Thomas Meredith
and others. -
A block of land containing ten acres, more or
less, situated at Addison's Flat, Buller Dis-
trict. Applied for by George C. Miller
and others.

A block of land containing four acres one rood
and thirty-six perches, more or less, situated
at Waikaromumu, Golden Bay. Applied
for by John Koghan and others. -
A block of land containing five acres, more or
less, situated at Waikaromumu, Golden Bay.
Applied for by Joseph Thompson and others.
