Superintendent's Office, Nelson,
January 13, 1873.
THE Superintendent directs it to be notified that it
is the intention of the Government to proclaim
and declare the 9th and 10th sections of "The Nelson
Scab Act 1868," to be in operation throughout the
Province of Nelson on and after the 1st day of January,
1874, excepting only that portion of the Nelson South-
west Goldfields comprised within the following
boundaries, viz.—
Commencing at the mouth of the river Grey on
the sea coast; thence by the sea coast to the
mouth of the river Karamea; thence up the
Karamea river to a point known as the
Karamea Bend; thence in a straight line to
the junction of the rivers Wangapeka and
Dart; thence in a straight line to the junction
of the rivers Buller and Hope; thence fol-
lowing the boundary of the Nelson South-
west Goldfields to the boundary of the
County of Westland; thence by the boundary
of the said County to the source of the river
Arnold; thence by the rivers Arnold and
Grey to the sea coast.

is the intention of the Provincial Government to
proclaim and declare that on and after the 1st day of
May, 1873, the undermentioned boundaries shall be
the boundaries of the Amuri district for the purposes
of "The Nelson Scab Act, 1868," and "The Nelson
Scab Act Amendment Act, 1869," and that the 9th
and 10th sections of the Nelson Scab Act, 1868,"
shall come into operation within the said boundaries
hereinafter described, on and after the 1st day of
May, 1873, viz.—
From the mouth of the Hurunui River to Lake
Sumner; from Lake Sumner to the saddle
between the Hurunui and Teremakau; thence
Northward by the boundary of the Nelson
South-west Goldfields to Mount Franklyn;
thence by the western watershed of the
Wairau river to the Tophouse; thence by the
boundary between the Provinces of Nelson
and Marlborough to the mouth of the river
Conway; thence by the sea coast to the
mouth of the river Hurunui.

IN consequence of the alteration of the boundaries
within which it was proposed to proclaim the 9th
and 10th clauses of the Nelson Scab Act, sheep
entering the Province by the Tophouse road will, until
further notice, be inspected at Foxhill as heretofore,
instead of at the boundary as previously advertised.
