NELSON GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

All that parcel of land, containing by admeasurement one hundred and sixty acres, situated at the junction of the river Warbeck with the river Matakitaki. Bounded on the northward by the river Matakitaki; eastward by Crown Land 21d. 40m. (2200 links); southward by Crown Land 111d. 40m. (5330 links); and westward by Crown Land 21d. 41m. (6450 links).

Notice is also hereby given that, in accordance with the 12th section of "The Nelson Waste Lands Act 1863," the undermentioned portion of the Hospital Reserve in the town of Westport will be changed by the Waste Lands Board from a reserve for hospital purposes to a reserve for the purposes of a ferry, viz.—

All that piece of land, containing by admeasurement one acre. Bounded on the north-eastward by Adderley-street; on the south-eastward by the Hospital Reserve; on the south-westward by a public road or street; and on the north-westward by Bentham-street.

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
