Superintendent's Office, Nelson,
June 18, 1873.

IT is hereby notified that it is intended, after the
expiration of Two months from the date hereof,
to GRANT Leases, for Gold-mining purposes, of the
Crown Land within the District of the Nelson South-
west Goldfields, hereinafter described, viz.—

  1. A block of land, containing Nine acres two
    roods and four perches, more or less, situated
    at Alpine Ranges, Lyell. Applied for by
    Thomas O'Brien and others.

  2. A block of land, containing Eleven acres one
    rood and twenty-five perches, more or less,
    situated at Eightmile Creek, Lyell. Applied
    for by Michael French and others.

  3. A block of land, containing Sixteen acres and
    thirty-two perches, more or less, situated at
    the Alpine Ranges, Lyell. Applied for by
    Godfrey Hofer and others.

  4. A block of land, containing Fifteen acres, more
    or less, situated at Irishman's Creek, Alpine
    Ranges, Lyell. Applied for by Samuel
    Marston and others.

  5. A block of land, containing Ten acres one
    rood and twenty-five perches, more or less,
    situated at Eight-mile Creek, Lyell. Ap-
    plied for by John Carroll and others.

  6. A block of land, containing Seven acres and
    two roods, more or less, situated at Alpine
    Ranges, Lyell. Applied for by Harry
    Garde and others.

IT is hereby notified that the Superintendent has
REFUSED to grant a Gold-mining Lease, applied
for by John Rodden and others, of a block of land,
containing Fifteen acres one rood and twenty perches,
more or less, situated at Eight-mile Creek, Lyell.

Special Claim to O. W. Anderson and party, of a
block of land, containing Five acres, more or less,
situated at Brandy Jack's Creek, Grey District.

to be Poundkeeper of the Public Pound at Coal Creek,
Grey District.

ALTERATION OF ROADS.

THE Undersigned give notice that they intend to
apply to two or more Justices of the Peace, at
a sitting to be held on Wednesday the 30th day of
July, 1873, at the Court-house, Nelson, for an order
for stopping up the undermentioned roads, and for
making others in lieu thereof; and further, that we
have caused survey plans of the several lines of roads
proposed to be stopped up, substituted, and made,
together with the books of reference and estimates to
be deposited with the Clerk to the Magistrates, at
Nelson, and with the Constable of the district of
Suburban North :—

To stop up part of a road in the district of
Suburban North running from the line of
road stopped under order of the Magistrates,
4th September, 1856, in a South-easterly
direction for a distance of 400 links, and
1800 links to the division line between
sections 10 and 11, and which is shown by
the pink color on the plan attached to this
application, and to stop up a certain occupier's
road in the said district, and running through
the section numbered 11, commencing at the
trunk line of road to Nelson and running in
a South-easterly direction for a distance of
about 2200 links, and terminating at a line
of road leading up to Dodson's farm, and
is shown by blue color on the plan attached
to this application, and to substitute a certain
other road, 50 links in width, running
through the said section numbered 11, com-
mencing on the trunk line of road to
Nelson, and running in a South-easterly
direction for a distance of about 1900 links
and terminating at the line of road leading
up to Dodson's farm, and which is shown by
green color on the plan attached to this
application, and is the road now being made
by the Road Board for the district.
