PROCLAMATION.
By his Honor Oswald Curtis, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c.
WHEREAS by an Act passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Nelson, intituled, "The Nelson Highways Act, 1872," it is amongst other things enacted that for the purpose of electing Members of the Board for any district, it shall be lawful for the Superintendent from time to time, if he shall think fit, by proclamation in the Government Gazette, to divide any district or districts into sub-districts, and to apportion the number of members for the whole district between such sub-districts as he shall think proper. And whereas a certain district has been constituted under the said Act, called the Waimea District:
Now, therefore, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, pursuant to and in exercise of the power and authority vested in me in that behalf by the said recited Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said district shall be divided into the following sub-districts, that is to say:β
- Stoke
- Waimea East
- Spring Grove
- Wakefield
- Waimea West
- Dovedale.
The boundaries of such sub-districts shall be as follows:β
1. Stoke.
The Northern boundary commences at the north-eastern angle of the Waimea district; thence by the boundary of the City of Nelson to the sea; thence along the sea beach and the edge of the mudflat Southward to the road between
