IT is hereby notified that the application for a gold-mining lease, made by Charles Runs and party, on the 2nd September, 1871, for nine acres, three roods, and thirty-two perches, situated at Red Jack\'s Creek, Grey District, has been withdrawn by the applicants.

IT is hereby notified, that it is intended, after the expiration of two months from the date hereof, to grant Leases for goldmining purposes, of the Crown Land within the district of the Nelson South-west Goldfields hereinafter described, viz :—

INANGAHUA DISTRICT.

  1. A block of land containing nine acres, three roods, and thirty-two perches, more or less, situated south on Caple\'s line of reef, Boatman\'s Creek, applied for by Zoffany Horne and others.

  2. A block of land containing thirteen acres, two roods, and ten perches, more or less, situated No. 8 south on Potter\'s line of reef, Larry\'s Creek, applied for by Harry McClosky and others.

  3. A block of land containing four acres, more or less, situated No. 1 north on Thompson\'s line of reef, Boatman\'s Creek, applied for by Arthur Grant and others.

  4. A block of land containing four acres, three roods, and twenty-one perches, more or less, situated No. 2 south on Gaffney\'s line of reef, Boatman\'s Creek, applied for by Arthur Breen and others.

I, The Undersigned PATRICK BRENNAN, hereby make application to register the VULCAN QUARTZ-MINING COMPANY REGISTERED, under the provisions of "The Mining Companies Limited Liability Acts 1865," "The Mining Companies Limited Liability Acts 1869, 1870; and 1871; and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every particular, namely :—

  1. The name and style of the Company is The Vulcan Quartzmining Company registered.

  2. The place of intended operation, is No. 2 south on Adam Smith\'s line of reef, near Murray Creek, on the Inangahua River, in the Province of Nelson.

  3. The nominal capital of the Company is sixteen thousand pounds in sixteen thousand shares of one pound each.

  4. The amount already paid up in cash is nil; in paid-up shares given to shareholders is eight thousand pounds, being estimated value of claim at present time.

  5. The name of the Manager is Patrick Brennan.

  6. The office of the Company is at Reefton, in the Province of Nelson.

  7. The names and several residences of the shareholders, and the number of shares held by each at this date, are as follows :—
