Nelson, 9th December, 1871.

IT is hereby notified that it is intended, after the
expiration of Two Months from the date hereof,
to grant Leases for Gold-Mining Purposes of the
Crown Land within the District of the Nelson South-
west Goldfields, hereinafter described, viz :—

  1. A Block of Land, containing Six Acres, more
    or less, situated at Giles\' Terrace, Buller
    District. Applied for by ROBERT TENNANT.

  2. A Block of Land, containing Five Acres,
    more or less, situated at German Terrace,
    Buller District. Applied for by OTTO
    TILLER.

  3. A Block of Land, containing Five Acres,
    more or less, situated at Giles\' Terrace,
    Buller District. Applied for by STEPHEN
    WATSON and others.

  4. A Block of Land, containing Five Acres,
    more or less, situated at Giles\' Terrace,
    Buller District. Applied for by CHRISTIAN
    P. RASSMUSSEN.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following Gold
Mining Leases are declared CANCELLED, viz :—

  1. Lease dated 1st January, 1870, to FREDERICK
    CROMA, of One Acre Two Roods and Twelve
    Perches, District of Charleston.

  2. Lease dated 1st July, 1869, FLEMING
    O\'REILLY and others, of Five Acres, District
    of Charleston.

  3. Lease dated 1st January, 1870, to H. HILL,
    Manager Queen\'s Own Company, of Six
    Acres and ten Perches District of Charles
    ton.

  4. Lease dated 1st October, 1870, to MICHAEL
    SMITH, of Four Acres and Thirty-four
    Perches District of Charleston.

  5. Lease dated 1st July, 1870, to WILLIAM HILL
    and others, of Two Acres One Rood and
    Two Perches, District of Charleston.

NELSON CITY LOAN FOR GAS AND
WATERWORKS.

TENDERS will be received at this Office,
MONDAY, the 15th day of January, 1872,
DEBENTURES to the Amount of Five Thousand
POUNDS, to be issued under the authority of the
"Nelson City Loan Act, 1871."

Each Debenture will be for the sum of ONE HUN-
DRED POUNDS, bearing SIX PER CENT. INTEREST,
will be issued in the form, and subject in all respects
to the conditions as to security and payment of
interest, provided in the above-mentioned Act.

The Debentures will be made Payable in Ten
Years from the date of issue, with interest at the
above-mentioned rate, Payable half-yearly at this
Office.

Tenders may be made for one or more Debentures,
and must be forwarded under cover, addressed to the
PROVINCIAL TREASURER, Nelson, and marked "Ten-
der for Debentures."

The highest or any Tender not necessarily
accepted.
