dance with these conditions, suspend the
operation of this protection until the matter
of complaint be removed; and if the matter
of complaint be not removed within a
reasonable time, the Superintendent shall
have the power to cancel this protection.
7. All Regulations which may at any time be
brought into force under Section 13 of "The
Goldfields Act, 1866," shall be deemed
applicable to this protection as if it had
been granted under the same.
8. This protection shall not be transferred with-
out the sanction of the Superintendent.
9. This protection shall not affect the right of
the Government to erect or grant protection
for any Bridge within the protected limits.

RANSOM AND CLARK V. PORTER.
WRIT OF Fi Fa.
WHEREAS, I, the undersigned, Sheriff of the
Westland North District of New Zealand,
have Taken in Execution and levied upon the Real
Estate and Lands hereinafter described of ADAM
PORTER, late of Westport, in the Province of Nelson,
in the Judicial District of Nelson, in the Colony of
New Zealand, Publican, but now of Grahamstown, in
the Province of Auckland, in New Zealand, out of
business, the Defendant in the said action at the suit
of JAMES RANSOM and JOHN CLARK, of Westport,
in the said Province, the Plaintiffs in the said action
under and by virtue of Writ of Fieri Facias issued
out of the said Supreme Court in the said action in
pursuance of the provisions of "The Execution of
Judgments against Real Estates Act, 1867," for
the sum of One hundred and ninety pounds six
shillings and fourpence, with the interest upon the
said sum at the rate of Eight pounds for every One
hundred pounds by the year from the 5th day of
May, 1871, besides Sheriff's poundage, Officer's fees,
and all other incidental expenses and costs: Now, I do
hereby give Notice, that it is my intention to cause
all the Estate and Interest, in Fee Simple and
inheritance in reversion of the said ADAM PORTER
in all that Piece or Parcel of Land situate at West-
port aforesaid, being part of allotment No. 8 on
Block 6 of the Native Reserve, having a frontage of
30 feet on Gladstone-street, and running back in a
rectangular block 164 feet, or thereabout, as the
same land is delineated in the plan drawn in the
margin of the conveyance thereof to the said ADAM
PORTER, to be Sold by Public Auction, at Westport,
on the Ninth day of SEPTEMBER next, at Two 'oclock
in the afternoon, in the said Province of Nelson,
unless the above-mentioned debt and costs be sooner
paid.
And I do hereby also give Notice that Messrs.
PITT and FISHER, of Westport aforesaid, are the
solicitors of the said JAMES RANSOM and JOHN
CLARK, the execution creditors.
Given under the authority of me, the under-

the Westland North District of New
Zealand, this Thirtieth day of May, One
thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.
