for the goldfield constituted by the hereinbefore recited
Proclamations of the eighth day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-eight, and of the ninth day of
February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy,
respectively, for the administration of justice therein,
and doth hereby appoint

CHARLES EROAD, Esq.,
JOSEPH GILES, Esq., and
CALEB WHITEFOORD, Esq.,

to be Wardens of such Courts, with power to act alone
or with assessors, and in such manner as is provided
by the said Act, and to exercise all such powers as are
mentioned in the said Act, and which the Governor by
the said Act has power to direct to be exercised by
Wardens.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Auckland, on the
eleventh day of February, 1870.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Goldfields Act, 1866," it is
amongst other things enacted that it shall be
lawful for the Governor, by Order in Council, from
time to time to constitute any goldfield, or for any
part thereof, Wardens' Courts, for the administration
of justice therein, and to appoint Wardens of such
Courts, with power to act alone or with assessors, and
in such manner, and to exercise all or any of the
powers thereinafter mentioned, as the Governor shall
think fit to direct:

Now therefore His Excellency the Governor, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the Colony, doth hereby, in pursuance and exercise
of the power and authority vested in him for this pur-
pose, appoint

THOMAS ALFRED SNEYD KYNNERSLEY, Esq.,

to be a Warden of all Wardens' Courts now constituted
within the Nelson South-west Goldfields, with power
to him to act alone or with assessors, and to exercise
all or any of the powers vested in or imposed on Judges
of Warden's Courts.

extended jurisdiction conferred on the Courts of the
said district.
