NELSON GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

PROCLAMATION.

By his Honor OSWALD CURTIS, Esquire, Superintendent
of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New
Zealand, &c. &c. &c.

WHEREAS by the 39th section of the "Nelson
Scab Act, 1868," it is provided that the 9th
and 10th sections of that Act shall come into operation
in the City of Nelson, the Suburban Electoral Districts,
and the Districts comprised in the basins of the Waimea,
Takaka, Aorere, and also the Motueka below Dovedale,
from and after the passing of the said Act, and in such
other parts of the Province at such times as the Super-
intendent, with the advice and consent of his Executive
Council, may appoint; three months' notice of his
intention to do so having been previously given in
some newspaper published in the province: And
whereas due notice has been given of the intention to
declare and proclaim the said sections in operation in
the District of Amuri.

Now therefore I, OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent
of the Province of Nelson aforesaid, do hereby proclaim,
declare, and appoint that the NINTH and TENTH
Sections of the "Nelson Scab Act, 1868," shall come
into operation from and after the date hereof, in the
district comprised within the following boundaries,
being the District of Amuri, as proclaimed for the pur-
poses of the "Nelson Scab Act, 1868."

The Hurunui River from its mouth to Lake Sum-
ner; from Lake Sumner to the Saddle
between the Hurunui and the Teremakau;
thence in a straight line to Mount Princess;
thence in a straight line to Lake Tennyson;
thence following the River Clarence to its
junction with the Acheron, thence by the
boundary of the Marlborough Province to
the mouth of the Conway; and from the
mouth of the Conway by the Sea Coast to
the mouth of the Hurunui.

Given under my hand and issued under the
Public Seal of the Province of Nelson, this
First day of July, One thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy.

IT is hereby notified that it is intended, after the
expiration of two months from the date hereof, to
grant Leases for goldmining purposes of the Crown
Land within the district of the Golden Bay Goldfields
hereinafter described, viz.β€”

  1. A block of land, containing nine acres, three
    roods, and fifteen perches, more or less,
    situated at Lightband's Gully, Collingwood.
    Applied for by John Ross and others.

  2. A block of land, containing sixteen acres, two
    roods, and four perches, situated at Bedstead
    Gully, Collingwood. Applied for by James
    Watkins and Thomas Adams.

  3. A block of land, containing sixteen acres, two
    roods, and four perches, situated at Toi Toi
    Flat, Collingwood. Applied for by H. L.
    Moffatt and others.

  4. A block of land, containing fourteen acres, two
    roods, and seven perches, more or less,
    situated between Cole's Creek and Bedstead
    Gully, Collingwood. Applied for by David
    Angus and others.

  5. A block of land, containing fifteen acres, one
    rood, and twenty perches, more or less, situated
    near Golden Gully, Collingwood. Applied for
    by A. Palmer and others.

  6. A block of land, containing sixteen acres, two
    roods, or less, situated at Bedstead
    Gully, Collingwood. Applied for by Joshua
    Roberts.

  7. A block of land, containing sixteen acres, one
    rood and seventeen perches, more or less,
    situated at Toi Toi Flat, Collingwood.
    Applied for by William B. Gibbs and others.

IT is hereby notified that the Superintendent has
refused to grant a Goldmining Lease of the block
of land hereinafter described, applied for by David
Leslie, (Victoria Quartzmining Company).

A block of land containing sixteen acres, more or
less, situated at the Waimangaroa, Buller
District. Applied for by David Leslie
(Victoria Quartzmining Company).
