Superintendent's Office,
Nelson, 19th June, 1869.
JOHN HASSAL and WILLIAM HODGES are hereby protected, under Section XIII of "The Goldfields Act, 1866," in the sole right of ferrying upon the Lagoon, situated to the northward of the Waimangaroa river, running parallel with the sea beach, and about three miles in length, for the period ending 31st December, 1869, upon the following conditions:—

That a good boat, and competent boatman be always in attendance.

That Government officers, including road overseers, laborers, and postmen, shall be conveyed free of charge, when the state of the tide renders the use of the ferry necessary.

That the Warden of the district, on proof that the ferry is not carried on a proper manner, and according to these conditions shall have power to suspend the operation of this license until the matter of complaint be removed.

That all regulations which may at any time be brought into force under Section XIII of "The Goldfields Act, 1866," shall be deemed applicable to this license, as if it had been granted under the same.

That the Toll to be charged shall not exceed the following:—

I, the undersigned, JAMES WYLDE, hereby make application to register "The Geordie's Terrace Sluicing Company," Registered under the provisions of "The Mining Companies Limited Liability Act, 1865," and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every particular, namely:—

The name and style of the Company is "The Geordie's Terrace Sluicing Company," Registered.

The place of intended operations is at Geordie's Terrace, near Point Elizabeth, in the Nelson South-west Goldfields.

The nominal capital of the Company is Four Hundred Pounds, in Forty Shares of Ten Pounds each.

The Amount already paid up is Thirty Pounds.

The name of the Manager is James Wylde.

The Office of the Company is in Tainui-street, Greymouth.
